Can never talk to anyone, internet connection.. rubbish, bills were almost double every month, told I could pay £60 to leave company or pay for a new router..£40 as existing router was old...they supplied the stupid thing so people.. please don't apply to this company.

Wish I had read the reviews sooner. Joined in April. Was never told about Out of Area Charges. Very expensive set up. Still not able to work out why.
Higher bills than expected every month.
Cheap and nasty router which has two unsightly and very long antennae on top and keeps falling over.
Phoned 5 times to try and find out what was going on, and on 5th call I asked to speak to supervisor who said he was too busy to speak to me. They admitted I hadn't received the correct information in the sales call but said I should have picked it up in the information they sent me. The information sent out was as clear as mud and even after the 5 calls I can't make a lot of sense out of it. Tied in for 18 months. Will be keeping close eye on billing and will leave as soon as I can.
Not feeling very valued as a customer. Wish I had stayed with plusnet.
Would advise everyone not to sign up with this company.
    AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Went without internet for 3 weeks, worst customer service, sent 10+ unanswered emails to their customer services email, extremely long wait times when trying to call them: 40 minutes - an hour.

Have been "put on hold" twice and then been hung up on because they have not known the answer to simple questions about my account.

Company does not call you back or update you.

The only plus is that once the engineer was eventually sent out, my internet is working. But it was an pain to get set up, and continues to be a pain after trying to confirm my refund and being hung up on...

This is an amazing provider it offers a fantastic price for broadband. I have not noticed any difference between directsave and BT for broadband reliability. I only need broadband for basic requirements but it suits my needs.

From day one I have had a very intermittant internet speed, Direct save are saying it is my signal extender not the internet. The booster can only boost what it gets it can't increase the signal.Blame is always laid elsewhere. No chance of a refund if you have paid up front. Absolutely do not use these guys except for telephone. There needs to be questions asked where the internet is going to be used in relation to router and what type of signal can be expected, we are not all technical geniuses some of us are of a different generation and need guidance! an expensive steep learning curve.

This is the worst broadband & telephone & customer service I have ever had I have had so many issues with this company for different reasons. I wouldn't recommend them to my enemy as they would recieve the message as the broadband services are slow. Maximum 80mb for about £46 per month. It is a second rate service from a second rate company.

Can't emphasise enough how much hassle this shambles of a company caused me.

They persuaded me to go for a slower internet speed as I explained that I needed my broadband set up as soon as possible, to which they predicted it would be 10 days. 28 days passed before one of them bothered replying to any of my communications to which they fobbed me off and told me that they were 'waiting on engineers.' a month after that communication I finally get told that an engineer is coming to my property (so at this point I have waited 2 months) and the engineer doesn't even turn up, so that's one day I had to take off work wasted.

At this point I am sick of the company so email them that I am cancelling my account. The next day I get an email billing me for the 2 months that I have had no service and telling me that a router has been sent to my property. I decide that this is the company acknowledging that I have been forgotten about and that they are sorting my problem, so I call them to ask why I have been billed for time that I have not had internet and they apologise, tell me that they will give me the money back and that my internet will be up and running when my router arrives.

Any customer of Direct Save will not be surprised to find out that I didn't get the money back and that when I plugged the router in it didn't work. I call up again and ask what has happened and after 45 minutes on the phone of the 'technical expert' insisting that I am plugging the router in to the wrong socket(?) she realises that maybe this has something to do with the fact that the engineers never turned up the previous month (I told her this 45 minutes previously). So she apologises and books for the engineer to come the following week.

Shocker - the engineers don't turn up again and when I call up to ask why, the girl at the other end of the phone tells me that they were never booked to come. I ask if she can just book me an appointment with the engineers as soon as possible and she tells me there will be a delay because the engineers need to assess my property before they can arrange an appointment, even though this is apparently what created the initial 2 month delay.

At this point it is nearly Christmas and I have gone so long without internet in my property I decide to just wait until the New Year to see if anything happens. 4 months after the initial enquiry and I am no closer to getting internet than I ever was. So I call up the bank to get back all of the money that I had given them (bare in mind I'd been charged for these 4 months) and to cancel my direct debit. Well shockingly I get a phonecall the next morning from them telling me that I need to pay them back all the money or they won't do anything more. I tell them that they haven't done anything yet and they won't get a penny from me until they do. Well with 2 stubborn parties unable to agree on how to proceed from there unsurprisingly my contract got cancelled.

The next day I went with BT (who were only £2 a month more expensive) and 2 weeks later my internet is sorted.

    Avoid Direct Save.

Cowboys - AVOID!!! Signed a 2 year contract with them. Had frequent problems, they always overcharge and refuse to refund (eg double charging on line rental - you pay for about 16 to 18 months each year!!!). Poor broadband (only 30% of the speed of previous providers we have used). Poor reliability, often went down. Rude abnoxious, uncaring customer service. How bad can you get.

Terrible customer service, they treat customers like morons, service can be intermittent, when you have a problem you can forget all about being treated like a person, the staff here treat all customers like idots - the "sales" department are quite friendly, but once you're on the hook you get downgraded to trash.

To make a point, I was playing an online game for the last few hours on my ps4 which is brand new. The Internet has cut out and kicked me out of the game no fewer than 12 times in the last 3 hours.
I've had problems with this company since day one, they rope you into a years contract that you never wanted. They then up your bill and down your Internet speeds. It's truly pathetic.
It's so bad I've had to switch off WiFi on my phone and use my data just to type this!!

    Avoid at all costs.

Just had a letter from Direct Save as I am leaving them on 6 April and said that they have calculate that you have 18 months left on your contract and we estimate that your termination fee to be £270.00. So I phoned them and said I was not in contract as it ended last month so have now put it in the hands of Ofcom. As after the contract ended it should be on a month basis. I would never go back to them as had trouble with them from the start as had to phone to see where the modem was and it was late being set up then the modem did not connect to the internet and found out the modem was not set up right and found that out on Monday and the broadband was meant to go on Friday

Had a problem over last few weeks of declining broadband speed. Rang them yesterday (25/01/16)and was promised new router which arrived today. Talked through set up step by step and system now running well. Many thanks to VJ.
    Cannot recommend them enough.

Hands down, the worst company I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with.

All I can give you lovely people is some tips so as you don't get caught out by these morally banktrupt salesmen.

    1) they typically sign you up with Vodafone - Go direct, they usually accept poor credit history and you'll get the contract cheaper than going through DST - And without the hassle! It's amazing when you get a bill and it's actually for the amount agreed!

    2) Record ALL your calls with them, they constantly change their story and will pass you around like a joint in a hippy session.

    3) Send the "Free" router back, or you'll get charged at the end (the sheer cheek!)

People, please put your trust in me when I say AVOID this company. It's not worth the stress in the long run.

I have been with this company a long number of years and have nothing but praise for their service. Their staff are knowledgeable, helpful, polite and friendly and do what they say they will do.
Over the last week we have had problems with falling and erratic broadband speed. On contacting DST they ran various tests which ultimately indicated router problems. A new router was despatched as promised. Regrettably I had problems setting it up but Lewis at DST spent approaching two hours on the'phone with me and sorted the problem. Result broadband now working better than ever.
I think some of the negative reviews are sour grapes whilst others could be personal conflict arising from how the customer approaches any problem.

Having read some of these reviews I am wondering if they refer to the same company. I have been with these guys for 4 years and still getting a good download speed on a standard non fiber line. I don't use the line for calls only the internet and have been paying the same price with no clever add one or price hikes. Very happy and any technical issues have been quickly sorted. Thank you.

all was great to start with until after a few months into the contract the price kept rising and I needed my phone line moved to have some work done on the property, so I phoned direct save and was told we don't deal with it and it will cost about £160.i phoned bt and they said I have to call network provider. I called direct save again and they said they cant help, I said I would cancel the contract and was laughed at over the phone and told ok you will pay an early cancellation figure of £100,please don't get caught with these crooks, I will certainly not go back to them.

They deserve 0 star. There are so many hidden charges which they won't tell you when you order your broadband. Once you sign the contract, they will send you a bunch of bills. They hung up if you call to complain. Do NOT ever deal with this company if you want a peaceful life.

Signed up with them about three months back. They were quick to move telephone line but never move the broadband. They do not tell you what's happening with your move, customer service is very rude- they promise to call back- never do. After three months broadband is not transferred and I agree with previous comments they lie effortlessly. Avoid this company at all costs.

Decided to swap from see the light as a lot cheaper. Spoke to a young lady who was lovely said I would think about it and call her back. Did as said and was told (rather hurriedly in hindsight)ok and it would change on the 2nd December. Cancelled my previous provider for the 2nd December, received the agreement - it was wrong and that was changed. 2nd of December was fast approaching - no contact or modem etc. Called to be told by an incredibly rude chap that basically hard luck only date they could do it was 5th December. Incredibly condescending and the rudest person I have had the pleasure of talking to in a long time. Called again to be told the same but in a less rude (still rude though) manner. Cancelled there and then. Avoid this one.
