I was told if I upgraded to fibre the service I get would so much better. Load of tosh, trying to watch Andorra v England and up to yet the garbage internet has buffered 30+ times ,absolutely abysmal service,that is if anyone can be bothered to answer the phone. Considering paying to get out of my contract. Hopeless ,inept,get the picture ????

Switched from Sky and should have done it long ago. Great savings and the contract price guaranteed for 2 years, unlike sky who constantly put it up! Change over was easy with no problems. I would definitely recommend Direct Save if your looking for a good value for money provider.

After leaving EE Broadband, which i have been with for some time and looking for a new provider, I came across Direct Save Telecome on a comparison website for home phone and broadband. After seeing the price and thinking how good it was i visited the website, read all the details and signed up for Broadband Opt 1 with them, on signing up i filled out all my information and received an email from them (this email never said anything about a router being delivered, just presumed this would happen). A few days later i received a letter from them in the post with all the details of the contract i had signed up to, i checked this and everything seemed fine to go ahead and i was just waiting on the delivery off the router. On this letter though there was no live date, so i was left wondering when this live date was, was i to be left with no internet ?
I signed up to Direct Save Telecome on the 02/01/2018, on the 10/01/2018 i still had not received a router from them but instead received a letter with a go live date of the 19/01/2018 and an INVOICE which stated it would be taken out of my account on 14/01/2018 - I hadn't even gone live yet, no router had arrived, but this wasn't the only problem, the invoice was for a lot more than i had signed up for, they had added extra charges on already and i hadn't even gone live with them !
After reading peoples reviews on this company i was appalled to see what they were really like and realised i would be experiencing many more problems with them, i phoned my bank straight away to cancel my direct debit, i then phoned Direct Save Telecom to cancel with them - the lady who answered the phone was very rude, her tone was appalling and she wasn't very interested in speaking to me as soon as i said i wanted to cancel.
So glad i visited this website and read all the reviews before my router arrived and before the go live date.
Any one thinking off going with Direct Save Telecom AVOID ! I would not recommend this company to anyone.

DST are best avoided. I signed up in 2007 and was initially pleased with their efforts to improve my broadband speed although they never got it better than about half a meg without the line dropping out constantly, but at least they tried and customer services were reactive. When the line went down completely last winter it took weeks to fix with dreadful service levels in response to the problem and now I'm struggling to get anyone at their end to recognise that the fact that I gave notice to cancel service means that I shouldn't have to pay a charge for cancelling without notice.

A couple of times I've had a problem with my router so I've called the tech support people at Direct Save and they have talked me through, step by step, how to fix the problem on both occasions. Very patient, very courteous and left me feeling I had just experienced PROPER customer service. I'd highly recommend Direct Save. Such a relief after years of BT !

I was sold fibre broadband, and told an engineer visit was required costing £60. The first available appointment was 2 weeks away (openreach timeframe). Almost 2 weeks passed and I hadn't heard anything, so I thought I would call up to check if it's still going ahead. I was told that my appointment had been cancelled because I can't get fibre in my area... Even though the sales advisor told me I could. It turns out the appointment was rejected ages ago and I was waiting for nothing, I received no communication from direct save. They offered nothing in the way of compensation and said it would take a further 2 weeks to get standard broadband connected. I cancelled my order and was told I would receive a refund for the £60. Another 2 weeks passed and I haven't received a refund. I called again today chasing my refund, the person was blunt and rude, often going silent for minutes at a time with no notice. The call took almost 15 minutes and when I asked why I wasn't refunded they said they are transferring to a new system and there was an error. Again they didn't contact me, were they hoping I forgot and let them have the money? They have all of my contact details, and I received emails and calls at the initial stage so they could sell me the product. Only after they charged my account did the communication stop. Hopefully my refund should be processed in the next couple of days. All in all they were useless.

Avoid, avoid, avoid,. If you ever finally get through to customer service they are rude and unhelpful. Been with them less than 6 weeks and no end of trouble, stayed in for engineer, no show, finally got set up 7 weeks after I bought the service, connection was rubbish, speed less of 0.36, called 3 times, each call lasting nearly an hour and still no improvement. Their staff are rude and unhelpful, manager even worse. Please do not waste time or money signing up, you will have no end of trouble

Customer service is poor just joined direct save had no invoice or nothing to say i have to put 25 pound after a couple of weeks of joining and i rang and have not been told nothing about this no letter or email so disconnected me customer agents start arguing with me over the phone if i dont pay this now we will cancel your contract and send you to debt collectors as a new customer i am discussed in the service im receiving

Poor customer service staff speak to you like crap over the phone could not use broadband for a month as i had a fault on my line and they kept putting it off to get it fixed no compensation or nothing ask to speak to a supervisor but according to the agents there wasnt a supervisor on the floor and hat to wait for a call back 2 weeks go by no call back then rang back up and same all over again

Great service from Direct Save. Moved into a new house and have not been able to get broadband from any mainstream providers for various silly reasons. Direct save got me connected in 2 working days without any issues. Always answered the phone quickly and actually spoke to me like a person, not like the usual offshore call centres. The price is also really good and you get great speeds in my area. Can't fault their service.

Wish I had read the reviews sooner. Joined in April. Was never told about Out of Area Charges. Very expensive set up. Still not able to work out why.
Higher bills than expected every month.
Cheap and nasty router which has two unsightly and very long antennae on top and keeps falling over.
Phoned 5 times to try and find out what was going on, and on 5th call I asked to speak to supervisor who said he was too busy to speak to me. They admitted I hadn't received the correct information in the sales call but said I should have picked it up in the information they sent me. The information sent out was as clear as mud and even after the 5 calls I can't make a lot of sense out of it. Tied in for 18 months. Will be keeping close eye on billing and will leave as soon as I can.
Not feeling very valued as a customer. Wish I had stayed with plusnet.
Would advise everyone not to sign up with this company.

I opted for 17 mb unlimited plan.dude on customer care. We guwrantee you 8 mb speed. I said " can you guarantee me atleast 4 mb. I am ok. He said. Confidently yes. I am watching movie on youtube . for 1 hour movie to finish it took 2 hrs.chexked my speed. Its 1-2 mbps ... Very poor service. Never go for. I paid 90 pounds for 1 month.. For wat...disappointment and frustrated..cancelled my direct debit.. Will not pay. A penny now...

I wouldn’t be surprised if the good reviews are from staff that work for the company.
I would NOT recommend them to anybody, every call would take me 25 minutes to get through, the staff did not have a clue and were rude to me on many occasions.
I would stay well clear of this company!!!!

When I first signed up to direct save I called them to discuss cancellation policy should I wish to. The lady who I spoke to was so rude and argumentative and in the background I could hear other staff being exactly the same. Terrible attitude!!! The internet stops working at least a few times a week, I don't bother calling customer services as I don't think I would get very far. The speed of the internet isn't too bad for what we use it for. But I won't be renewing my contract with them!

I was connected to 'Direct Save', in April last year and was on-line in about 5-days of ordering the package from the web. Although, everything went fine for about a week, my router kept started dropping the 'DSL' line eventhough my phone was working as promised. I phoned the support line, told them of the problem, and after a short 5-minute wait, the advisor said that the trce revealed that the router was failing and that he would send out a new one. In just 2-days I had the new router. I replaced the old one, and within minutes I was back on-line. I began a ping/speed test and found that the speed had increased to just over 9mb rather than the 3.2mb that I was getting before. As the original estimate was around 7mb for the area. I am totally thrilled with the results thus far and can't really say much, only that the service is 'Top quality'. The best that I ever had from any supplier. My last ISP was 'virginmedia' who, kept increasing their prices. So, all-in-all I've cut my internet bill by ³⅓ or £27.40 and we are very pleased to know that these people are true to their word. Top marks for an outstanding service...

Overall not too satisfied the customer services just put the phone down on you when they feel like and don't ring back so you have to que up all over again the customer services isn't the best I had my broadband disconnected for a week and they didn't inform me I had to ring up find out the problem they didn't rush to sort it out. Broadband speed is okay I guess when it works that is. The staff are rude and don't rush to sort anything out for you they over charge you on your bill sometimes too with out telling you. Wouldn't recommend to anyone searching for broadband !!!

I have over 10 years experience of Direct Save Telecom. They always solve the problems we get in a rural area where we are lucky to get more than 2mbs.Their technicians are patient and easy to understand. I wonder if some of the rude reviews are the result of the manner in which some customers address the staff?

The best broadband provider we have encountered.
We were messed about by Virgin when trying to maintain our contract on moving to rented accommodation .
Had 2.5 months without broad band!!
Direct save sorted it within 3-5 days, have excellent technical back up when I was unsure with regards a fault and if I’ve had any questions regarding any thing
I haven’t been sitting on hold endlessly waiting to speak to a parrot who can’t speak English properly.
I would highly recommend Direct Save down to my positive experience.
