Reviewed EE a short while ago,so just an update.
My service is still absolutely spot on,38 meg,no dropouts,no billing errors. It is perfect. I have the Samknows broadband reporting whitebox and according to my dashboard there is never any reduction in speed at any time,it always shows around 38 meg. For those of you who are not familiar with Samknows, just google it and sign up to the program,it is free.
Again,I cannot fault EE in any way.

Hoped I wasn't getting into anything awful reading all the reviews, but so far EE have been great (2 months in so far)
My only annoyance was that I took a day off for the initial engineer visit. The guy never attended my house BUT he attended the box (this is communication issue with Openreach) and to be fair the guy sorted the box in the road and the attended my house three days after as promised. EE customer support were great.

There are horror stories on here, but there will be in most places.

I think most of the clowns on here live in a parallel universe!
I have nothing but praise for EE. My broadband has always been fine but the customer service is such that if I did encounter an issue and let's face it s..t happens then I'm confident that it would be sorted in a timely manner.
All I can say is that if you speak to people in a courteous manner then you'll get a better response than if you go off on one.
    Ring any bells ????

Have no complaints with EE whatsoever. Great speed, helpful customer service (in this country). After being with Virgin for many many years, the last few with appalling service, EE have so far done us proud. Would definitely recommend.

Okay I don't know why everybody is giving EE bad reviews. I have never had any issues whatsoever and have been with them for roughly 5 months. Speeds are good...download 13Mbs during peak times. They do throttle P2P during peak hours which is good as it doesn't slow down everybodys connection who are connected to the same exchange. There are obviously ways around this but it seems to stop most people who aren't too technical from using P2P. I play a lot of online games and get acceptable pings. Used their customer services once and was acceptable. The only problem I think I have is that I sometimes get packet loss when playing online games, but to the majority it will not be an issue. My service has never gone down so far. And their is no download/upload limits. I seriously can't complain.

I am limited to ADSL broadband and use to be with Sky Connect who gave 6mb off peak which dropped to less than 1mb between 5pm til midnight which rendered it useless! The switchover from Sky to EE was painless, having received their Brightbox router in the post in good time. The wireless Brightbox router performs much better than Sky's and I now get speeds of between 9-15mb 24/7 so i'm very satified indeed considering it's ADSL.

I have been using EE/orange as my broadband provider for several years, most recently on a 38 Mb/s. My household runs everything through the internet and so we have an average usage of over 150GB/month. The service of EE has been very good, the speed remains at a pretty constant level and doesn't ever appear to be throttled back.

The 5 GHz signal on the router covers my entire house, if you gadget can us it and this will provide the full 38 MB/s. The 2.4 GHz signal will cover the house, garden and some of the road, but as there is a lot of other houses using the channel it can slow down, it usually provides around 20 MB/s but this is not really EE's fault and just the facts of the technology.

I have had a few problems with my service, the phone stopped working and my internet became direly slow <0.5 MB/s. I phone EE, after being on hold for 10 mins (7pm - weekday), was put through to customer services and quickly escalated to tier 2. The next morning at 8am BT Open Reach were at my house checking the fault. Turns out there was a fault with internal wiring as the main inlet worked fine. EE didn't charge me for this work even through BT said they would be charging EE. I have relayed my interal wires and everything is excellent again.

I have been really happy with the EE provided service so far.

All the reviews on this site complain about things EE have no control over, they started to give free home broadband to customers (when they were orange) consumer demand for a cheap mobile internet and home phone package have caused them to expand so anyone can have it. Connection fees are actually charged by BT EE cover most of the fee asking customers to cover 40%. Speeds are controlled by BT as they own lines. Lines randomly get deactivated by BT so they can charged "installation" fees or engineer call out fees. EE customer service is not amazing but I work on new join team we get over 2500 calls a day 80% of them are people complaining that they have slow speeds (BT cause this as then people leave and they can charge more "installation fees") BT is the cause of 90% of problems for providers they send engineers to cut lines and cause problems I know this because I was a open reach sub contractor before I worked for EE... If you want uk based call centers go for sky or EE if you want a good service and people who won't sabotage your lines to make more money stay away from BT network companies and go to Virgin. By far best provider around and I can't wait to leave EE not because of problems they cause but because of BT

I have been with EE for about 3-4 years and in that time I have never had an issue with the reliability or speed of my 500mb package. The very few times I have contacted customer support have been regarding upgrades to my deal, my call was answered promptly and delt with quickly to great satisfaction. The biggest downside to EE is the cost and whilst they are a good provider and prices for new customers aren't awful as soon as the contract expires you can expect to notice a significant increase in your monthly cost.

Well, here's a fine too do. I have been with EE for two years and have been looking for a better deal, so I have been reading the reviews for various providers. My only conclusion is that I am amazed that ANYONE gets any broadband connection. All the reviews seem to be negative, so here is mine for EE; A bit of a rocky start, had a couple of weeks of non-fibre broadband at the start 'cos EE said they had fibre when they hadn't, but eventually .... all was good. Download & upload speed good, the very occasional reset of the router, no more than 2 or 3 times a year and after the initial hiccup I have only had to contact support once - nice lady, based in UK, spoke English, not tech and the problem was sorted by Outreach who found the council had been setting up new street lamps and had mucked up our broad band line, All sorted. Only reason I'm thinking of leaving EE is to get 78 Mbs at three quarters of the cost.

I’ve been with EE three years now, had some issues with sky before and it was a pain to speak to their Indian support.
Had an issue once with EE when switching from sky, had to call them a few times, they’ve fixed it and gave me one month free. I’ve had fibre, then fibre plus, now I’ve signed up for fibre plus again.
It’s easy to contact them, at 8:30am I had to wait for consultant about 7 min but then around 12:30pm they’ve picked up straight away.
Sky would be £3 cheaper monthly but I’m staying with EE as it was always fine for the last three years.

Swapped to ee broadband recently from talktalk and saw an immediate increase of 2mbps, which is amazing for someone who was only getting 2Mbps to start with. The switch over was very easy with ee handling everything and the people on the phone gave me all the information I needed, had no problems getting in touch.
Overall I am very happy, especially since I enjoy online gaming and have seen a great increase in the quality of my games now throughout the day

Only had this broadband provider for about 2 weeks but I have had good experiences with them so far! We chose them because they kept on calling us about switching to them and persuading us. We initially said that we’d wait around until September to decide whether we would stay with Post Office or move to EE, but because Post Office has been intermittent and lockdown and everything, along with the inability to play Roblox properly, we made the decision to switch in June and not in September.

I like that it’s faster, much more faster than PO who I’ve had to use for years.
Minimal drops of connection occurred from the broadband end. Only two so far from the router’s end and they happened on the first day (it was the first day so it’s understandable)!
It does drop a little bit in some apps but I just close them out of the app switcher and open them up again and it works fine! Might be the iPad but I do not know.

Not intermittent yet but it’s still early days. I would recommend this lot for your broadband but I wouldn’t recommend Post Office! I’m glad that mum chose this broadband!

Everything excellent, service, speed, connection in all rooms etc etc.. My only comment is I pay £28.50 Fibre plus broadband..at end of contract it goes up to £44.50

Cheaper price only for new customers, however at least they told me about price hike unlike previous company 'Sky' who just billed at higher rate without warnings..

I have had EE fibre plus for about a year now and recently upgraded to EE TV. Really Pleased with broadband the service, it is very stable and extremely quick with a downspeed of 79-78 mb/s and uplink of 20 mb/s and the Bright Box 2's wifi range is far better than our old virgin router. Everything was connected on time and landline number ported from Virgin successfully. Recently took the TV service as it was the same price a month with it. Saved me a packet as pay now TV £6.99 a month instead of sky £30 a month for the shows I watch! the recording facility is good and being able to watch and record 4 shows at the same time is a big benefit.

We had one issue so far where the house phones dial tone disappeared. Called EE at about 7 in the evening and yes it was an offshore call centre but the gent was knowledgeable so I didn't really care. After some testing he confirmed there is a fault with my BT line and BT Openreach needed to attend to fix this. I was told there is a 72 hour SLA to get this resolved from EE notifying BT. The next morning at around 9 the engineer from BT knocked on the door and asked me to give the landline a test. All was well again, superb service from EE and the BT Openreach. I hope it stays the same when BT take over EE, I would highly recommend this service.

After having seen the vast amounts of negative reviews against EE broadband, I thought I'd shed some light on their service and say that I have had a good and stable connection with them. We have the 76mbps package and receive around 70. It should be noted that I live in London where maybe there is better coverage and reliability due to living in a more densely populated area; it seems many negative reviews are from customers that aren't in major cities. My only complaint is that when asking for their new 'smart router' which apparently offers better wi-fi coverage, they declined, which I thought was mean as I have been with them for 3 years now and the original box supplied is showing it's age.

Changed to EE and then read comments on this review site and got extremely worried. Then when it was meant to go live.. It didn't... This we were told was due to BT not switching it on at their end. A bit archaic we thought as we were going to fibreoptic.. Anyway. Support staff in Portsmouth very helpful. Chased it up and we were given a another date for connection. It went live earlier than they said and we've gone from having 1gh and it cutting out with our old supplier to 22gh so absolutely brilliant. If this continues... Im Still uncertain of all the negative comments. Have been told it will update over the month ahead. But at the moment. All good.

Compared to BT, I am so glad I switched. When my BT renewal came up, BT was so unhelpful, would not move on price and would only offer 18 months rather than a 1 year contract I was on. I asked the BT adviser what the early termination would be and she said it was another department and could not say, and would only know how much if and when I ended the contract. This was just stupid, she could not tell me the T&Cs she is asking me to sign... terrible. Most ask for about 40-50% of the full contract, so no wonder they are all pushing people to longer term contracts.
Decided I needed to change even though it is a monopoly all back by BT OpenReach's infrastructure , and BT own several of the other providers anyhow.
Called EE and they have been nothing but helpful and honest. Said they have been improving their call centres to keep & win customers, since you need to differentiate when the product is the same, and it shows. The speed is a bit lower (55Mb) than my BT connection (70Mb) but had a long chat with them and believe it will be resolved once line settles down (been just 2 days). The other provided will need to up their game and focus on customer service, EE's is very good so far and not dodge my many questions.

I changed to EE from Primus Newcall for which there is not a low enough rating as far as I am concerned! When I was connected to EE I could not initially get broadband and spent several hours on the phone with the technical support team (all of whom were extremely helpful) culminating in a home visit from a BT engineer who had been told the job was urgent and quickly resolved the problem. Broadband speed is excellent but only just up and running so can't comment on reliability. What a difference from months of almost daily phonecalls to Primus trying to achieve a service fit for purpose . Thank you EE for treating me as though I matter all systems can have problems it's the way they are dealt with that counts.

I read all the terrible reviews for EE but in reality this couldn't be further from the truth for me!

Switched to EE from BT about 18 months ago for a cheaper deal, since then the connection has been rock solid. Never dropped once. Did have some issues when using the Brightbox router, but once I binned that it was all resolved!

From the get go we were getting about 3MB speeds, but after some investigation of my own, I realised there was a fault in one of our microfilters, once this was solved the speeds tripled instantly!

In the interest of fairness, their customer service isn't the best, passed from pillar to post sometimes. Was intending to leave to get a cheaper deal on Fibre as exchange has recently been enabled, and the retentions department managed to mess up our upgrade, resulting in about a months wait to be installed!!

All in all, I would recommend EE, provided you bin the rubbish router they give you!!

My experience with EE has been so good I feel I have to give it a positive review. The switch over from BT was smooth and easy although there was a slight delay it was all fixed 2 hours after I enquired about it. The major improvements i am seeing however are easy to sum up. I was paying £42 per month for broadband and phone line with BT on getting a new mobile contract and switching my broadband to EE my monthly communications outgoings have in fact dropped by £5 (yes effectively EE paid me to leave BT and gave me a new mobile phone). Not only has the service been infinitely better than BT's and it's a lot cheaper, but also just by changing providers (no change was made to the line) my download speeds have doubled.
    Thanks EE

I moved from TalkTalk 10 months ago and have not found any of the problems experienced by other reviewers here. Compared with TT, our broadband feed is rock solid with reasonable speeds. As far as I know, all connections are provided by BT Openreach so there shouldn't be any difference between suppliers but while TT had constant dropouts and outages, we don't get any of that or the severe buffering when streaming and downloading at the same time. There is an annoying phenomenon that occurs which does clobber the network - the router polls every few seconds to refresh its IP table. There is absolutely no reason why it should do this and it creates unnecessary traffic. If I can stop that I reckon I can improve my network performance by several notches. Other than that, no complaints and really pleased with the swap from TT to EE.

After reading all the negative EE reviews about service, connection and what really killed it for me was data managment in place I looked elsewhere for broadband and even rang BT to see what they could offer my as my contract had ended with them to be told, as I am an existing customer I could not have the big flashy prices they were now offering. So decided to again look elsewhere and kept coming back to EE, the prices were very good for complete package of phone and broadband. So decided to go for it and made the order online also got quidco cash back, so went for it. I was shocked how quickly I got an emailed stating that my order was accepted, within a few days again I was updated on my order and given a switch over date - so far so good. New router arrived as per the email, switch over day came and had a txt around 7:30am to confirm it was done. Sure enough connected router and checked phone line, all working - initial speed was as per my BT connection 20 up and about 6 down, so far so good same speeds and im saving about £14 each month great. After a few days speed fluctuated slighty and was getting upto 27 up and about 6 down - good stuff. After some reserach I decided to upgrade the router, network cables and also the BT master socket in the house. Ok the router was not cheap, but thought worth a gamble...and wow suddently im getting solid 34-38 down and 9-10 up, I cannot see any evidence of data mangement so far. Im now a month in and touch wood all good, speed is constant. I am more than aware if I ever have to call EE thats when this will all be put to the test, but I am happy thus far and have no complaints over the service provided - maybe im just lucky?!

Get slightly more then we pay for, year and a half with no issues apart from bad writing in the property which wasn't their fault. Switched from sky when we was getting awful internet.
Only downsides are their terrible site and they're not the cheapest

Was previously only able to achieve 3meg on the copper unlimited broadband, due to our distance from the exchange.

Fibre was launched in our area on the 10th April so we ordered the 40meg fibre basic package on the 13th.
Fibre was activated on the 2nd of May.

New Brigthbox 2 router is brilliant and we get the full 40meg and 10 meg upload speed. Downloaded a game via Steam to test speed at 4.5mbs a second! 4 gig data took 15 mins.

Slightly marked down on their customer service who were very inaccurate about our activation date. To their credit though, they gave us a month free in compensation for the inaccurate activation date information.
Some of the other reviewers on this site don’t seem to understand the limitations that cooper wire has on the speed of you connection from the local exchange and limitations of Wi-Fi technology.

For an accurate speed test connect via Ethernet to the router and run the BT wholesale speed test.

So impressed with EE. I have been a customer with them for 3 years and nothing but fantastic customer service. I just spoke with them regarding moving house... was expecting a lengthy phone call to arrange. Took a few minutes and everything was sorted, no charge, no fuss, just fantastic customer service. Would definitely recommend.

We are very pleased with the speed and reliability of our broadband connections
We shall renew later in the year with EE - a good service in our area at a very favourable price - still £11.00 a month for line rental - that's just brilliant!

Firstly to the people who dont do research first and find out the calls are weekend only or they arnt getting the speeds they expected do research first.

I expected around 40meg (mbit/s for uou people that dont know the difference between a bit n a byte there are 8 bits in a byte so effectively you download at 1/8th the speed your bandwith says, then its bytes) i get 38, my only floor with EE is they throttle P2P data at certain times but they specialise in gaming so thats a priority. As for the bright box if you configure it properly and allocate your devices with the apropriate bandwith its a decent router. Conection speeds of 144mbit/s on my mac which is decent dor a b/g/n router. The main problem with EE is they dont explain things very well with simpletons, none IT literates and people that just dont bother researching something and expect someone to know everything about a product in a day of training.

Do your research first, get someone that knows about networking to configure your router if you dont have clue then you will be happy with your service.

I was overcharged on one of my bills and when I phoned up and it was explained to me it was actually a miss-communication between myself and the engineer. However, the lady at customer service was brilliant, she spoke to her manager, explained the situation and they gave me a full refund on understanding it was the engineer's fault not mine. The issue was resolved quickly and the lady on the phone was brilliant at explaining everything to me. Thank you!
