I signed up for EE broadband and Phone package before I read any reviews (breaking a golden rule but I was so fed up with TalkTalk that anything had to be better!). The line activated one day after the quoted estimate, it has been constant ever since with no line noise or disconnects. I am for some weird reason getting almost twice the speed than my previous provider (around 11.2mbs instead of 5.4mbs)this must be down to their Brightbox router which also gives decent wireless coverage in a four bedrooom house. Despite initial fears I am a very happy customer!!!

Switched over from very reliable Sky ISDN, because of the 10GB mobile data offer. Took over 2 weeks to settle down - constant dropouts/speed issues etc. Infuriating, compared to top providers. But a month on, the speed is constantly 20 mbps (advertised as 13),and the router/modem seems to have a better range than the cheapo Sky box. Seems a good bargain for £21 (so far). Haven't had to talk to customer support, as yet.

I have been with EE for nearly two years now after switching from extortionate BT prices and incredibly poor download speeds.

I can honestly say it is the best decision I could have made. My download speeds are triple what they used to be and the price is very reasonable for the package that I have.

I have only ever had to deal with customer service once when my line went dead for a week and the customer service team were a little bit useless in providing information on the matter. But the issue was eventually resolved and credit was added to my account to make up for my lack of access.

That situation was over a year ago now and I have had absolutely no problems since and would highly recommend them to anyone in my area.

I felt I had to leave a review, as my own experience with EE Broadband has been very positive. I think it helps that my house is fairly close to the local exchange, and my phone line was installed only a few years ago (the previous occupanats had Virgin and the BT line had been cut out). Do not underestimate how much difference good quality cabling and filters make to your broadband experience. The speed estimate for my property is 14.0Mb, but I generally get a real life speed of 16-18Mb, which I'm very happy with. Before EE I was with Sky, and before that 02. Neither of those services were as quick or as reliable as EE has been.
As an extra little known benefit, they do a 12 month line rental saver, like BT do (or at least did). If you pay 12 months in advance you save at least 10%, and they also give EE mobile customers £5pm off, and will do good deals if your contract is running out.
In my case it was £132 line rental per year (equivalent of £11 per month), and then I pay only £5 per month for unlimited broadband, unlimited landline calls and 1000 minutes to any UK mobiles.

And no, I don't work for EE!!

I don’t know about other people but Iv always had good customer service, even when my internet had stopped working. EE gave me free data when I had no internet for three days. Iv had an EE engineer come out and very honestly said that, fibre internet isn’t in my area and not to get it if an EE sales person rings me to upgrade. I can’t fault EE, yes they are expensive but I would never go with virgin or sky or BT, as their customer service is terrible. Doesn’t make sense if BT took over EE, why does EE internet work fine in my area, but BT internet doesn’t. Very strange.

Am with ee for both broadband and mobile, no issues with either. Good mobile coverage - internet too new to comment on speed/ reliability but so far so good. Moved from Vodafone recently. EE Probably the best customer service I've ever had- in stark contrast with Vodafone who I hated having to deal with. You get to speak to someone within minutes and they are helpful and communicative and happy to put things right. Would confidently recommend ee to friends and family. P. S. I'm not being paid to write this

When I got with EE I was feeling really unsure about it after I looked at these reviews. I have now had it for 3 days now. I have the 38mb plan and it is great my top speed is 36mb download and 10mb uploads at busy times it is still good 30mb download. People talk about the router not giving a good signal but it is fine for myself. I live about 900 yards from the main connection point so that may help a bit but all round I cant say a bad word at the moment. All I will say is that when I joined I got an email saying my top speed would be 7mb witch is really not good and I was very unsure about it but that is what BT said. I happy that I went with EE and just make sure you can get a good speed before going with them.

We switched from Talk-Talk, having read the reviews I was fully expecting awful quality from EE but their switchover process was flawless, and the main thing, SPEED, has been as good as or better than Talk-Talk was. Avg 10MB download, which is fine for ADSL. Streaming video works better too. Not one issues of reliability or speed so far.

Just thought I'd add my experience by way of balance ...

I totally disagree with all of these negative comments. Swapped to EE from Sky in October and like another feedback on here read the reviews after and wondered if I had done the right thing! The swap was faultless and broadband great for three months. I've just had a fault where it completely dropped out and thought now is the time to put their customer care to the test. They couldn't have dealt with it better. Kept in the loop via a dedicated person, engineer visit arranged, fault sorted, bill waived and data added to my mobile account to cover loss of broadband. Well done EE, keep up the good work!

My broadband contract is due for renewal so decided to check the reviews out on this site for various providers. i am actually currently with EE for Fibre Broadband and had I seen some of the terrible reviews I may have been cautious about taking my contract out with EE. However, in the whole of my 18 month contract, I have never had a problem with the reliability or speed of the broadband so am quite surprised by some of the reviews. I may well decide to take my business away from EE however this would purely be down to getting a better deal elsewhere and not because of the service received. I hope it isn't a case of better the devil you know if I leave!!

Been with EE ever since they were T-mobile, with all the mobiles in the house, decided to switch broadband from sky to EE, took longer than they expected to switch so had to go 7 days without Internet, kids went crazy :-( finally up and running continued connection drops, slow speeds, technical support was useless, decided to swap the bright box 2, that was provided by EE, for a Netgear D6400 router as has all the extra features so we can disconnect the kids from our mobiles etc, Had to google setup codes!! As EE technical support says they can't help if I don't use their bright box. Internet connection is solid all the time, speeds are at the max that I pay for (38mb fibre) 36mb download which is same sometimes better than I had from sky. So I suggest anyone switching ditch the bright box 2 and get a new Netgear, it will save you a headache of problems and endless calls to EE technical support

I must be very lucky after reading all the negative reviews on this website. After signing up for broadband with EE, it took them a week to send me confirmation of when my broadband will go live. Router arrived shortly after, and the internet was up and running on the day they promised it would go up on. Speed is amazing around 16mb for the standard package.

No, I do not work for EE, just in case anyone gets that impression. It seems that if you have anything good to say about EE, then people think you work for them or are paid to do it. I switched from Talktalk to EE this week. My phone line switched over without a hitch and although there was a slight delay in activation of my fibre broadband (apparently caused by BT) I have been up and running for the last three days without any hitch, speeds of about 40M on average - and that's from a slave socket at the opposite side of the house - 22M on the wireless network in my office. No drop out. No interruptions and my movie streaming is flawless. Maybe I'm situated in a good area, or maybe I'm just lucky, but I haven't had a single thing wrong with the service I get from EE. The router arrived in good time, plugged it in and let it synchronise for five minutes, entered my password for the wireless and that's it. Up and running with no fuss or drama. I'm happy and based on my experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend EE to my friends or family as an internet provider. Far better than my Talktalk internet service, which did drop out far too frequently, usually half way through booking holidays or buying stuff online. As a self publishing author, I also need to upload my book files and design covers, and this was also frustrating. It didn't give me the speed that they claimed it would, and at weekends it was practically snail pace. So, I'm happy I switched, and I'll say it again for the suspicious...I do not work for a get paid by EE to say this! Okay?

I had EE broadband for one year. Never had a problem it was excellent.
Left to join Talktalk sorry I did having slow speeds and have to reboot router several times especially at nights. Will consider rejoining Ee when my TalkTalk contract expires.

Product/cost: EE Broadband unlimited with anytime national, international and mobile calls, line rental advance / £22 pm (1st 3m £5 off)

Firstly, I do not work for EE. I have read many EE reviews here after I switched. I don't need mega broadband for P2P or gaming, just for email and catch up TV and I am happy so far with what I have bought. The switch was handled smoothly and was on time.

I moved from legacy Talk Talk with free broadband several weeks ago and have cut costs by a third - even over free broadband - as basically all calls are inclusive and as my wife lives on the 'phone and her parents live abroad, that's essential.

The router setup is plug it in and that's it. Set up Airport with details provided on a handy plastic card and working straight away. It hasn't dropped once and connection uptime is continuous, unlike the Talk Talk dropping every hour annoyance.

Speedtest increased from 1.89 Mb/s to 3.80+ Mb/s. Best though, the choking or traffic shaping that rendered the internet and especially BBC iPlayer unusable has gone. Streaming is continuos without re-buffering and two laptops can stream catchup reducing arguments.

I haven't needed to call customer services to complain about anything so far, though they called us to see if we were satisfied. If I ever have a problem with customer services I will complain in the EE shop with a raised voice on a busy Saturday morning.

All in all I am happy with this product and with the service that was and is provided. I have no reason not to recommend this.

Very satisfied now after upgrading to ee fibre broadband from ordinary broadband connection they provide.
Fibre is brilliant giving 38 mbs as promised.
Ordinary broadband was just 4 mbs although it said it will be around 7 mb.
But all sorted now and getting a good deal.
My contract was just 6 months old and they still allowed me to upgrade to fibre without any extra charges.

EE Fibre Broadband is very reliable but the speed isn't always the promised 38mbps up.

The customer service for EE as a whole (broadband and mobile) isn't the best, but usually you get the help you need after a while.

Thought i woould post because i looked at reviews following initial frustration when i moved to EE and was annoyed with the service. Why then the good ratings. Well perserverance won the day and i have had three providers who were unable to diagnose a simple problem which EE have now fixed and after i perservered.
My speeds were always 1mb or thereby n switched cause EE guaranteed 3MB. AFter switching i was still only getting 1 MB. I contacted EE and had to go through the usual rigmorol of switching off on etc ethernet connection Foreign contact centre, blah blah. Nothing worked. Eventually they diagnosed a noise imbalance and sent out an engineer from BT. He spent about three hours at my house All free and replaced just about everything still no joy. Eventually he went to local exchange and found a "spare" connection which shortened my route to exchange, Voila instant 8MB. Initially when switching everything back on i got 4mb but eventually over a week the line trained up to 8MB nearly 9mb. I also had one other issue with EETV in that the You tube was freezing after say 10 mins. I contacted them and they have informed it is a known issue which they are preparing software upgrade and will be on all boxes remotely over the next three days.
So after three weeks all is well with a little bit of perserverence and some misunderstanding and communication on both parts i couldnt be happier therefore creidt where its due. I realise i might be lucky as i now know that there are several factors to gettting good broadband but as i say credit where its due to EE as they were the only ones to fix a three year issue at my house.

Been with EE for nearly a year. There was a line fault to start with, the internet connection would drop when the phone rang or was off the hook. I must have called about 3 times in one week they tried multiple diagnostics to avail, but eventually sent out a BT engineer to change the telephone socket and has been fine ever since good speed and reliability.

After being with sky for many years , decided to go with freesat , which put up the cost of the broadband , then got a call from EE offering the same deal as sky but for £24 inc vat which was a saving of £140+ , so after a lot of thought made the switch , broadband and telephone was 4 days late due to sky acting up , staying that l could not switch until my next payment date had passed .
Anyway have nothing terrible to report , broadband and phone up and running (7203 kbps) ,speed slighty better than sky.Have contacted customer services twice , also polite and helpful also 0845/0870 numbers are free ( sky charge for these ).

To be honest, this is the second year using EE broadband, I am surprise that there are people suffering from EE internet service, I face some problems in the first couple of months, since that everything is ok, my bill is the same for 1 year and half now. I want to find another internet provider because EE is expensive I think maybe I will find best offer.

We booked broadbank with EE and then read the reviews on this site..... Needless to say I was really concerned we had made a bad choice in provider! Router arrived and at the cut off date of my previous supplier the router connected to EE and I had an email saying the tv box was on route. The Internet wouldn't connect and I called customer services, waited less than 2 minutes to get through and after explaining the issue was put through to a call centre probably in India.. Very nice man had the Internet up and working within 5 minutes.. Speed is faster than before and so far I'm very impressed with the service provided....

I see a lot of bad reviews about EE. So I'm guessing aside from my own personal experience, their services can be hit an miss. Though nevertheless I'll give an account of my experience with EE.

18mth Contract 76mb Fibre Broadband and Homephone.

I'm 19 months into using EEs fibre broadband and couldn't be happier. My download speeds sometimes exceed the 76mb advertised speeds by a mb or 2. I never seem to be slowed down at peak times and even though I use up an astounding amount of data. I've still not been slowed down or received correspondence to stop.

In 19 months, I have not once had any outages. Always a stable connection.

Aside from the actual product, which from my experience, has been amazing. Their customer service I have to admit is shockingly awful.

The customer service representatives don't really seem to care. Any complaints are dealt with in a, 'not our problem', kind of fashion. Usually only being resolved after escalating the matter.

I can understand why those who have had issues, don't rate EE highly. As I can imagine getting an issue sorted if something goes wrong can be very frustrating with EEs poor customer service.

For me, no longer being tied down by a contract as I'm now into a rolling contract. An never having issues with my broadband and getting the speeds I'm paying for. Is what keeps me with EE. If any of that changed, I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

We have been using EE for more than a year and honestly I have always received quite good services from them. I'm surprised to see so many complaints as because I have none of them. Good speed, no network problem, well I'm satisfied. My company uses this broadband as well. My company requires an all time stable connection as we have to do a lot of research on properties, buyers, sellers and market. We need more of everything and EE provides it all for us. My company recommends it to other as well. Thank you EE!

Thought I would add a decent review to counter balance the negative. I was offered to upgrade from broadband to fibre broadband. Negotiated a decent deal (comparatively), £30 for 12 months then £39 for 6 months for 38mb unlimited and anytime calls. The router arrived in three days. I was expecting some engineer to fit it but when my internet shut down last night I simply plugged in the new router and in about 10minutes I was up and running again. At which point I got an email telling me I had moved over to the new plan. Might have been better to send me the email before they switched me over !! Otherwise so far so good.

I looked at the reviews and decided to add my own.
I have been with Freeserve, Wanadoo, Orange, now EE since 1998.
Forget the Indian call centres, they are a waste of space.
The rest of the above 3 categories have been good.
Many years ago when the free internet Companies folded my service provider then must have brought in more servers to cope with the influx of new customers.
I have had 17 years of good service, EE also looks after my phone line.
This has been my experience so far, if it isn't broken, don,t fix it.
Other companies quote similar prices for my broadband and phone line service.
I have always had reliable service, but forget the Indian call centres, they are rubbish.
I hope you get a similar experience from your provider, I'm 66 now and if EE remains as effective I will carry on with them into the future.

Worked out of the box when delivered back in Nov 2014 cant complain about speed as getting 13MBS compared with 1.5MBS before upgrade
Strangely BroadBand username and password settings bore no relation to those on the card in the box...It worked so I left it alone..
Stopped working monday evening and was unable to get through to customer services on Tuesday before travelling to Europe
Back today and spent an 45 mins in an EE shop trying to contact Tech support...No answer again
My son found some info on the net so we logged into the router and changed the Broadband user name and paswword to the ones on the card..Didnt work
Bit of messing around with the username and it finally accepted it with the suffix @fs .....
Can only assume the Router was setup under a default account IE Not mine...EE discovered this and killed it....
This is poor service especially when you cant even talk to someone...
Dont even think about using EE for home Broadband unless you are VERY Technically confident....Im no expert but do this for a living....

Further to my recent review of my exit from EE and transfer to Plusnet, I feel it is only fair to add that I have received a final bill showing an overpayment. This amount is to be credited to my bank account.
I therefore upgraded my overall satisfaction score.

I am quite happy with EE's service. Speeds are close enough to the advertised 76mb.

Negatives are that I had BT before and they were almost flawless. Every now and then late at night, EE's service disconnects for 10 minutes or so, which is very irritating.

Also their offer of free Norton Security Premium is nonsense, as the process to get it does not work and neither EE, nor Norton have a solution. This is false advertising.

Ive been with EE for 3 months now, Customer service wasnt so good at beginning!....But UK call centres are being rolled out! Its improving!! Excellent broadband speeds since day one! No problems! And ive just upgraded to there fibre package.Id recommend it in central glasgow....And remember people, every time you phone EE customer teams...you will get a different interpitation off things, from a different person!..Should all be simple...its not! but they are improving.

I contacted customer services as the engineer had not turned up on the day he should have. I spoke to Laura, who was very understanding and professional. She sorted out a new appointment for me and even called that evening to check that the work was done and I was satisfied. Well done Laura, you turned the situation around and you are an asset to EE.
