Slow speeds, but they are apparently what we are paying for. Consistently drops out, and has gotten worse since FTTP started being rolled out here. ASlways has been an issue in the bedrooms. Plotting a switch to Trooli and leaving EE and the Openreah network as a whole.

Absolute waste of time !!< STAY AWAY FROM EE BROADBAND, it is pathetic, constantly dropping off and takes up to 55 minutes to reconnect, COME ON EE, sort this out or you'll never have customers who will stay with you, pathetic and i've only been with them a month, should have stayed with Sky !!

Signed up on 10th Dec, told earliest engineer could make it was 29th. Cancelled mobile broadband in readiness. 29th came, I waited in for engineer but no sign of one. Rang EE to see if one on way and was told that our order hadn't been put through!! Someone should have rung us, but they were too busy. It would be another 14 days before an engineer could come. Will cancel and go back to mobile broadband, I think. From reading the reviews on here, sounds like I had lucky escape. Terrible service.

Very inconsistent at the best of times, wifi always drops throughout the day repeatedly and for long periods looking at other reviews other people have had similar experiences which proves this internet provider is awful if you’re looking to go to EE please avoid, would rather stick with Sky with a more expensive bill that actually was somewhat reliable. After having EE for the first month it wouldn't work at all thanks to their awful attempts at setting it up then making my family wait a ridiculous amount of time just to use it (around 3 weeks) there have been many internet providers i’ve used but EE has gotta be one of the worst!

I rarely get over a speed of 0.5 mbps, my old broadband was faster. It also stops working every night and occasionally day. Rubbish!

Being in a rural location and not being able to get decent broadband due to the government's slow progress, despite all their promises and claims coupled with the corrupt BT OpenReach monopoly we opted for a 4G home router from EE. What a terrible mistake - speeds were slightly improved from the BT copper wire that we suffer but for the last 2 months has slowed down for no reason to a point that it's unusable. As mentioned by others you get the dumb questions and the "can you restart the router'. Why do these companies employ monkeys on their support desks that seem to know less that the average user these days. Awful service, awful broadband - just simply awful. Avoid EE at all costs. EE were awful before they became part of BT but now they're part of possibly the worst corporation on the planet there's no hope.

Internet cut out 6/7 times daily, rang up multiple times and they upgraded me for an extra £1 per month, everything was great for 3 months and now the exact same thing is happening again, have been told we will have to pay an early termination fee for leaving even though they can't fix the problem

Avoid at all costs! House move, informed a week prior, told new speed at new address(fibre) 38mb....only to be told 3 weeks later fibre not available.. Even though it is...bt engineer advised fttc at ourcabinet and available via bt when entering land line and address? So Ee now wanna charge £250 cancellation even though they cant provide the service.....bring it on ee...you will not see another penny from me for any service ee provide ever... And best if luck getting any fees out of me.... One brand i will avoid from now on!

Terrible customer service, useless assistance, broadband not working and unreliable engineers.
EE take care of you the first year then, when you start to pay the full price they just don't care anymore. I have been a customer for 4 years and when I have decided to switch to another provider they charged me 2 months worth of bills even if the usage was 0 because the broadband was not working and they didn't care to send an engineer. 3 times I had to stay home from work waiting for the engineer and 3 times they didn't show up.
Useless, absolutely useless.

Been with EE broadband for one year.
On the positive side: the deal was cheap.
Negative side:
- really bad contention ratios. In the mornings/afternoons we get the advertised 16Mb speeds, but every evening it drops hugely, sometimes to around 1Mb and about one evening a week, it becomes difficult to get anything out of the line at all. It can be really painful to use.
- throttles certain types of bandwidth at certain times.
Overall it was very much a budget package, so I'd tend to cut it some slack, but the speed drops to the point of being unusable for some things are not acceptable in my opinion.

The speed of the fire is terrible, I dread to think what normal broadband is like, constantly cuts out for no reason, I have been with sky, talk talk, virgin and EE are by far the worst provider I have ever been with. Id rather go back to dial up, stay away, if your looking for cheap broadband go with talk talk or plus net. Just awful connection and speed.

I think ee broadband is good for the internet in general , the problems I has were actually when needing customer service. I would be on hold for a long time, felt as if my enquiries weren't dealt with as they could of been or particularly helpful. Was charged for phone line which I did not have, which was later refunded as I made a complaint about a diffrent matter, and when they looked up my notes etc they found out I was being over charged which resulted me being owed £221 by the company, which I might add took 2 months for them to pay me back, which I think is a joke because whenever I was a few days late with a bill the company would be keeping check on me to see when I could pAy, bearing in mind I was with company approximately 2 years and would always pay bill, but never took 2 months. I have now decided to move to sky broadband.

I was convinced in an EE store to change my home broadband, TV and phone line to EE, it will be cheaper and seamless, I was told.
All the equipment was delivered and I had it all connected, it was a case of unplugging my old equipment and plugging the EE equipment in.
IT HAS NEVER WORKED
I have spent countless hours on the phone to EE trying to resolve the problem, being told one thing then another, first there was a condition on the line, then they had told me the go live date was wrong – a month later I still have no TV and no broadband.
I tried on a number of occasions to cancel the service but end up having to argue my case with someone who “wants to resolve the issue”.
I have now gone back to BT but have to wait another week to be switched on. I have no idea what will happen then as I’m sure that EE have somehow messed up the line in the switch over.
To add insult to injury EE took £80 out of my bank account today, after another hour long phone call I’m told that these charges are for the broadband and setup fees for a service THAT HAS NEVER WORKED!!
These charges were taken even though there was an £80.45 credit on my account, I’m told that I will have to phone up again when my BT goes live to request a refund.
I can quite honestly say this is the worst experience I have ever had with any company – The people you talk to in the call centres are as helpful as they can be but that is no compensation for the awful, awful service that this company provides.
I have been with EE for many years and we currently have 3 phone contracts with them, I was expecting a good service from them what I got however I got the worst service in history. I have been without broadband or TV for a month now. Everything about this has been a world of pain, inconvenience and cost – I’ve yet to find out how much all these many, many phone call will cost!
DO NOT GO WITH EE!

EE broadband is so bad it cannot be used. It cannot serve one device let alone multiples so the router is trash as well. My firestick freezes all the time (it did not with SKY) so my 3 year old gets really frustrated with her cartoons. This ISP it totally UNFIT FOR THE PURPOSE. Customer Service department takes the p**s out of us. What a disgusting company this is. DO NOT GO NEAR EE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!!!

AWFUL broadband. Deliberately slowed my old broadband so I had to 'upgrade' to their new faster service which is totally unworkable! Drops out every 15 mins meaning you a forever losing work and having to reboot. Never get calls back from tech department.... I have now Switched to another provider which is easy and highly recommended.

I would not recommend this broadband to anyone it's been a hassle since installing it (which took over a month and took 5 phone calls each took over an hour because we where on hold for ages + going into the store for help, they just gave us a phone and said we had to ring) all that hassle and the EE man only took 5 minutes to install it. They also over charged us a extra 2 months and they didn't realise so we needed to call again. The first time we wanted to cancel I complained and they hung up on me. There customers service is total crap is a under statement.

Very poor service. I ordered this service and went through all the purchase. The lady said service will be up and running in 7 days. I later received a text that service will be delivered in 2 weeks. Still nothing. I called EE only to be told they got my address wrong and have being trying to reach me. REACH ME ON THE PHONE ION MY HANDS???? Never rang. I will also be taking my phone from Orange in a few months. This is a very poor service. I have been with Orange for 15 yrs but time is up with this EE stupidity.

Was previously only able to achieve 3meg on the copper unlimited broadband, due to our distance from the exchange.
Fibre was launched in our area on the 10th April so we ordered the 40meg fibre basic package on the 13th.
Fibre was activated on the 2nd of May.
New Brigthbox 2 router is brilliant and we get the full 40meg and 10 meg upload speed. Downloaded a game via Steam to test speed at 4.5mbs a second! 4 gig data took 15 mins.
Slightly marked down on their customer service who were very inaccurate about our activation date. To their credit though, they gave us a month free in compensation for the inaccurate activation date information.
Some of the other reviewers on this site don’t seem to understand the limitations that cooper wire has on the speed of you connection from the local exchange and limitations of Wi-Fi technology.
For an accurate speed test connect via Ethernet to the router and run the BT wholesale speed test.

When I joined they waved the connection but they cancelled the engineer's visit and by the time it was installed it took me just outside the 2 weeks cool off period. Then the first time I used the landline, it was terrible, sounded like I was in a rain tunnel. I phoned them to cancel the contract only to be told...you have guessed...couldn't do it as it was just outside the 2 weeks. After more calls and to placate me they gave me a month's free and promised to send the engineer for free only to charge me £80.50 some 3 months later. I had to ring them for the refund numerous times and still waiting at the time of writing this. I made contact with BY Opne Reach who advised me to request the engineers report ( he clearly told me at the time that it was their line not my equipment). When I did just that, finally they agreed to refund the charge but still waiting. Bottom line: they will promise anything until they get your signature on the dotted line. The staff in the UK are very good but once they transfer you to "Technical" you can forget of any sense. In my case I feel like they induced in the contract under false pretences, promised something they could not deliver. AVOID AT ANY COST!!!!!

Utterly shocking service. For well over a month now I've been getting broadband at the painful stagger rather than a healthy trot, and I've had to endure the horrors of EE's dire customer service four times. Every time I call I get a chippy, patronising voice on the phone who repeats the same excuses as the previous one, and then tells me that they will call me back. They never do. I experienced faster, more reliable internet on my dial-up modem ten years ago. Whenever I call up their "helpdesk" and hear the little voiceover saying how EE is the UK's "fastest, most reliable network" I have to restrain the urge to laugh bitterly. I'm heartily sick of having to deal with these chumps, and I'll be ditching them as soon as I've identified an alternate provider.

Giving EE A one star rating is far too good for them. Their customer service is appalling. They say the will ring back but often do not. They say its not their fault the problem lays at the suppliers door and it will take 72 hours to rectify. My broad band started on 22/12/2014. As of 14/1/2015 the problems are still not resolved.Despite over 10 phone calls some of which lasted for nearly TWO HOURS I have very slow download speed which affects streaming programmes, making it very difficult. They say up to 17mb download speed but typical is 8 to 9 mb. I get no where near that speed. Their line manager is typical of call centre personnel having well rehearsed answers and assurances of rectification even allotting a case manager who will keep one fully informed of the progress. In my experience some three weeks plus on is yet to materialise.I have to guess there is no progress as I have yet to be called by her. To leave them now they want in excess of £170 for a service they have failed to provide. I think distance selling ( over the phone) for a service that fails to comply with verbal and advertised product should be warrant enough to leave this company with out having to pay their unreasonable charges. After all they have failed to observe the contract they wish to implement by not providing the service portrayed.BUYER BEWARE this company in my estimation has serious failings and needs to be taken to task.

Am with ee for both broadband and mobile, no issues with either. Good mobile coverage - internet too new to comment on speed/ reliability but so far so good. Moved from Vodafone recently. EE Probably the best customer service I've ever had- in stark contrast with Vodafone who I hated having to deal with. You get to speak to someone within minutes and they are helpful and communicative and happy to put things right. Would confidently recommend ee to friends and family. P. S. I'm not being paid to write this

An Absolute no go company. I had experienced Talk Talk before and thought it was the worst Internet company ever, until I signed up to EE. Their customer service doesn't exist and the help line I actuallys bogus! Last call lasted 1 hour and 13 minutes, no reply. After a moltitude of others before, I left the phone on the line on loudspeaker for over 2 Hours on a separate occasion, got a reply from a representative asking me what was wrong, before putting the phone down on me. Deleted my account and got debited for it anyway. The case has now been sent to the ombudsmen.

We switched from Talk-Talk, having read the reviews I was fully expecting awful quality from EE but their switchover process was flawless, and the main thing, SPEED, has been as good as or better than Talk-Talk was. Avg 10MB download, which is fine for ADSL. Streaming video works better too. Not one issues of reliability or speed so far.
Just thought I'd add my experience by way of balance ...

The reviews on this website pretty much sum up ee broadband; probably the worst customer service I've experienced with rudeness and indifference seemingly scripted in. Internet throttling at peak times, random charging for phone calls..and refusing even to disconnect the service and charging you through the wallet for all of this..call centre? If they dont agree with you, they cut you off...my sage and chastened advice? Go elsewhere..

I would only recommend EE if you had no other option!
When the service went wrong, it took 3 months, 7 visits and 5 days off work to resolve. They closed the fault twice whilst it was still open with BT. As a 'good will gesture', they kindly gave me 3 months free - the same period that it didn't work for.
Shambles of a company that I am transferring both mobile and home accounts from.

I have never been through such a vile experience as I have with EE broadband. Firstly they enroll you onto a 24 month package when you move home without knowing it. Secondly the internet did not work what so ever at the property. It keeps dropping in and out constantly, any hope of doing work from home is futile. Then after months of the persistent issues and showing them evidence of the drop outs they can not do anything. So naturally I opted out to leave for another provider, but they obviously won't release me of the contract without a crazy termination fee. (Forget about their 'policy' if the broadband doesn't work, you can cancel your contract for free). It was months of me on the phone to them, to the point I had to pay for an extra broadband service to work from home. They do not help you what so ever. Forget about trying the ombudsam service, they are paid by the internet companies, and will always side with them even when you have heaps of evidence. A word of warning to anyone considering EE. DON'T. IT HAS BEEN HELL. Started in February last year and is still going on now.

Terrible experience with EE. Broadband was always very slow and so we changed provider when we moved house. Cancelled contract however EE continued to take money from my account, which I only realised a couple of months later. Called EE and they still failed to cancel it two further times, taking more money from my account. EE confirmed they owe me over £200 and keep telling me they have paid me, or sent a cheque but so far all I have received is a measley £30 and even that has taken 3 months to receive. I'm at my wits end with them and would not recommend them to anyone!!!

EE Broadband is fine until there is problem. The overseas call centre are the rudest, most inept bunch of people I have ever come across. I was given different stories each time as to why my landline and broadband were down, spoken to rudely, dropped calls when questions I asked weren't on the script and people who say they'll call back and then don't.
You get what you pay for and even though BT was a lot more expensive, if you had a problem it was sorted out promptly and politely.
If you can't provide adequate service then you shouldn't be selling broadband.
