I have reviewed on trust pilot.the new email layout is ok.but it takes 30 to 45 minutes to click on email messages ad it circles and circles never loads up.And also it takes the same amount of time to delete messages from the trash .I have never experienced this shocking problem ad the Internet has got shockingly very slow.I am just wasting my money and data allowance it is shocking

Fairly reliable compared to other providers, but what's the use in reliability with speeds 10x slower than competitor's.

Worst speed I've had is 1500ms ping from an ookla test. That's 1.5 SECONDS!

Overpriced for an awful service with no option to change from KCOM's monopoly. If I could, I'd change to another provider, but they'd have to use KCOM's awful infrastructure so the speeds would be the same if not slower. Customer service is okay but they can't fix the speed issue as it's a problem with KCOM's greed.

KCOM is holding back Hull to speeds acceptable 10 years ago.

Shocking service. Speeds are horrific. On phone and PC, it takes up to 3 minutes for pages to load, youtube buffers for 2-5 minutes at a time, horrific pings during gaming, customer service is alright as the staff are nice, but nothing ever gets solved. The speed is 10mbps but it seems more like 3.

Lets just say its consistent. In a negative way. Looking for a monopoly themed internet provider, who abuses its power in hull? Well KCOM is here for you. I think through this review we can all excuse my verbal attack at KCOM, as humorously they cause mental breakdowns. People rely on their internet for social prosperity, financial and emotional. Well, these three aspects have been stripped from you by KCOM. Its terrible, and this review is coming from the more financially wealthy sector of hull.

Lets start with customer service. Theres music to drive you insane as you wait half an hour for a live call, only for the magic four magic words to come out the speakers mouth-"We'll get back to you." This is never the case. Their reply time is somewhere around 10 plus working days.

Wouldn't go with these at all conections rubbish made mistakes on my bill ended up getting in debt with this they admitted it was there fault didn't help me at all ended up paying 190 pounds straight out goto wifi company's don't up set u children with these rip of merchants

I am 22 and have been with kc for some years now. I've always hated their speeds as I had a speed of 12 megabits (1.5 megabytes). It was awful to download games with since it took me something stupid like 16 hours for a 70 gigabyte file. I have to admit i was skeptical of the new lighstream being installed as I thought there was no way they would hit the speeds they showed. I have to say the new lighstream is amazing, i pay for the 3rd package i believe with a speed of 400 megabits. Had it 6 weeks now and i am still obsessed with speed testing it to see the numbers, it is always 422 megabits (52 megabytes). astonishing improvement from what i was using. I've never dealt with customer services since the Internet is in someone else's name, hence why i haven't done a rating there. Hated KC for about 6 years but now i love the lightstream, thanks KC!

Absolute joke of a company. I'm no longer with them. I'm with 3 homefi. Got a 4h router through them and a took out a SIM only with unlimited data. A lot faster that kc and only 20 pound a month. Would not recommend kc to anyone. Worst company in the UK.

Downgraded from 400mbps to 200 as I wasn't even getting 100mbps. Still the same, not even getting 100 let alone what I pay for. Can't get a signal from my bedroom to the living room and I live in a 2 up 2 down ffs

K com wouldn’t exist in hull if we could use different providers. Their lightstrem is awful. With a rating of 2 starts on my WiFi App download speed. Honestly wouldn’t even recommend it to my dog. Awful service, stupid prices and a company build on lies

Waited months to finally get fibre kept saying poles in wrong place etc so finally 3 1/2 behind launch day
We get it good for first week speed around 125 on 400 package only had 2 weeks and we are get 23 if we are lucky
Keep s dropping and losing connection even wired in n sat next to router it’s the same
Rung asking for explanation only to be told it’s a wireless cold spot in the house ( what my whole house )
Even wired sat next to router come on Kcom own up n tell us it’s a scam £60 month for 5 % of what we pay for
At least Dick Turpin wore a mask
This should be looked at by ofcom as this highway robbery can not go on much longer

Cant believe I have to give them one star. That's far to high a rating for this appalling company. They first sent me a letter telling me I was eligible for their lightstream service nearly four months ago and I still dont have it. I've sat in all day waiting for call backs that never happened. Waited three weeks just to book an appointment for an engineer and when one finally came, he told me that they'd used the wrong pole outside and I'd have to wait for the connection to the correct pole to be planned and approved before I could be connected to it. Even if I do eventually get connected, the service and price is hardly competitive compared to other providers I'm unable to access because of kcoms monopoly.

KCOM Customer service is appalling, plus they are dishonest. I've had the same repeat bad service for products at high prices for over 17 years. Like many residents in the Hull area I have found there is little alternative to access broadband let alone fibre to door, so I've stuck with KCOM. It's got to the point now where I'm considering mobile broadband just so I can retain essential contact with banks, overseas relatives, etc. I refuse to pay the best part of £50 per month for atrocious products and service. I should think people in the Sahara or Gobi deserts have equivalent Internet access choices to residents in Hull...

Amazing service, customer service are efficient and getting between 500-570mbps download 30mbps upload and a ping of 5-15ms on a hardwired Xbox, don’t know why everyone slags kc off we are leaps ahead of rest of country having direct fiber connections

Absolutely appalling service. Charge sky high prices for not even unlimited data, can't provide a decent service, speed nor provide with Internet half the time.

Is this the service you like to Provide your high paying customers???????? What if I only paid half my bill because I'm only receiving half of what I'm Paying for?????? Somethings gonna happen kcom. This is beyond unacceptable. An absolute embarrassment to Hull and surrounding areas you won't let other providers connect too. Greedy ********.

Light stream dropped out Friday night, rang KCOM Saturday morning, after hanging on the 'phone on hold for 20mins we got through. After explaining the fault, was talked through several things to switch on/off etc. Was then asked if we could unplug the router, go to a neighbour, unplug theirs and try ours on their wiring! After a while we were asked to take the router in to KCOM on Carr Ln, this we did, to be told the router was ok. Returned home plugged in & rang tech support again, after again been talked through fault finding we were told there is a fault in the area!! Cheers KCOM didn't you know that? Sooner Sky etc move in the area the better.

Can rightfully described as the worst broadband provider on the planet. Waited 3 weeks for new installation at my mother's house. The engineer installed it but said the ones who installed lighstream cabling outside had not fitted it right. Said it wasn't his problem so left it not working and said outside team would fix it whenever. This is my mother's first experience with kc broadband and it can best be described has atrocious.

ive just had lightstream installed(cheapest package 30mbs download)and ive had no problems whatsoever, the speeds im getting are as advertised, previously i was on adsl and had no problems with that either but lightstream is eons better

They introduced Lightstream with some heavily exaggerated advertising. Firstly, they promised a 100 download speed. But this number is in megabits not megabytes

in reality the max you get is about 12 megabytes of download speed and 0.5 megabytes of upload speed

You are very restricted in Hull with what ISP you can go with. KCOM is the main ISP in Hull and it has been that way for a very long time. But, things need to change because KCOM are absolute trash. I have lived in Hull nearly my entire life and we have always struggled with poor service from KCOM, but have never been able to switch because of the monopoly KCOM play. Need internet? KCOM is basically your only option, or satellite broadband with long waiting times and expensive installation fees and most of the time high ping.

Without Lightstream (which is not available in all parts of Hull yet), you can't even get an upload speed averaging 1mb/s which makes it near impossible if you wish to stream games online. Let me add by saying you can expect 10mb/s download speed on a GOOD day (and that is on a cable connection, not Wi-Fi). I have called KCOM several times to enquire why my Wi-Fi connection is so bad and they put it down to the distance between device and router, which is complete bull because I live in an extremely small flat with paper thin walls, so the signal should not be a problem at all.

Even on a cabled connection I still struggle to download and stream. At most I can download things at 1-2mb/s, it takes a RIDICULOUS amount of time to download large games so I often have to leave my PC on overnight to let it download.

My sister and her partner have Lightstream and Netflix STILL buffers for them. I can't even say that maybe it is so bad because there are a lot of devices connected to the router because there isn't.

KCOM is awful. Extortionate prices for extremely slow and frustrating download and upload speeds; even on Lightstream. Please, if you can save yourself the hassle and stress and AVOID this TRASH company.

Other ISPs if you are reading this, please battle KCOM and start offering your service, take over the phone lines in Hull; we all need you!!!

Service is great except the pricing. £52 for 400Gb limit. Extortionate!! Comparable services elsewhere are so much cheaper. The only difference is FTTD (Fibre to the door) rather than FTTB (Fibre to the box) but I'm not aware that this is creating a marked improvement. Need to sort out prices but very happy otherwise.

A company that upgraded all of its systems, YET is still behind in the times.

Just because you upgrade to 200 mb/s, it doesn't mean you are buying the stability of 200 mb/s which has always been KCOM's issue. You are buying 200 mb/s, but you are getting around 40 mb/s.

What a shower of **** this company is.I find it strange that if you run a speed test kcon shows up 94Mbps and BT wholesale shows up 47Mbps (supposed to be 250Mbps). Kcon massaging the figures slightly me thinks. Their monopoly was agreed in a different time when different rules applied - it is not relevant now and should be cancelled.

After having waited on the phone for nearly half an hour to speak to someone about my bill, which didnt explain at all why my bill was more than usual, I finally got through.
Apparently I've come to the end of a slight discount which was for 12 months when I thought it was 18. The contract is 18 months.
After discussing my usage, I'm told that I only use less than 40 gig thiingies a month and use about 9 local phone calls.
They only have deals for either 20 Gigs or 200 Gigs. So I have to pay for the 200 which is 4 times what I use.
This is appalling service and they have us by the short and curlies because there's no one else. I agree with everyone else about KCom. It is rubbish.

If I could give no stars I would. Absolute joke. Have waited for them to install lightstream for three weeks now they were due to come today waited in all morning only to find a slip through the door saying they have been and they weren’t in, I can categorically tell you me and my boyfriend have been in all morning and if that engineer knocked it was the lightest knock ever. Rang KC to be told that he did come and he tried to ring me. No missed calls on my phone. Apparently he was here for ten minutes, I don’t know what he was doing for ten minutes but it was not knocking. It’s only a small house and you can hear the door from every room. The customer service advisor made a comment about the engineer saying the curtains were drawn. Yes they were because we’ve just moved in and don’t have any nets up so don’t want people looking through the window at us. So It sounds to me like he’s knocked once very lightly seen the curtains are drawn and gone. To top it all off we now have to find £120 for the pleasure of all this when we are already paying almost three times the price of competitors and wait another 2 weeks for an engineer. Absolute disgrace of a company and I will not be letting this drop.

Such A rubbish service. Im sick to death of terrible upload speeds and crashing internet. There is just me here so when my son is home with his mobile and his laptop, the service breaks down. I have lightstream customers behind me and the to left of me and opposite me here on Main Street yet I cannot have it until July...Absolutely disgusting. I pay a bloomin fortune for this internet, forced to as we have no other options available. KC-What is wrong with you? Your days will be numbered when other services become available so take heed, get your finger out and give your customers a decent experience

Worst customer service ever! 10 months still not got my speed back to anywhere near it use to be before. Wasnt great in the first place! 2.9 mbps to 3.5 mbps down to 0.4 mbps and after 10 months kcom finaly give up and said ill have to wait for lightstream! KCom usual offer of credit and discount but no actual money refunded! No refund for past internet even though there was no speed at all. It is true when a company has the monopoly they take full advantage of its customers, over charge and give an apauling service at Hulls peoples expence! More people need to complain to the onbudsman and stop taking it from Kcom!
Why is the monopoly still allowed when its ileagal i want to know?

Just the worst, most overpriced service from a company I have ever had to deal with, and in the rural Hull area we have no other choice! a staggering £50 a month JUST for phone and broadband!!.... The equivalent Talk talk package is £20!

the broadband works most of the time, and turns off at least 3-5 times a day. sometimes it goes off for hours and we have to wait for it to come back on. I play on an xbox one and most of my games lag due to poor speeds. I get on average 1.5 mbps but it has dropped to 20 kbs and under. I also have a lot of latency. I hope the lightstream solves some of these problems.

I have had lightstream for a year now. At first it wasn't too bad, but now the speeds are utterly dreadful. On a speed test it's barely managing 2mbit on the 250mbit package, less than 1% of the expected speed. Even in the middle of night it barely reaches a quarter of what I'm paying for. If you're on the old ASDL and think lightstream is an upgrade don't waste your money. That was actually reasonably reliable.
