I'm not surprised they have reduced their price from 17 to 15 a month...they can afford to, it's the only way they would get customers. I've been with them a year and have spent more time phoning them than actually using my internet. You literally can't do anything on this service.moneys tight in my house but even still I would push to pay the extra because this service has actually affected my work it's so bad

Useless Post office telephones
I have been waiting for almost 4 weeks for the Post office to connect my telephone service. Having spent almost 3 days on the phone to them and waiting in for them to connect our phone up, we are still without.
Their customer service centre is useless. Unless you have a problem that works with their on screen prompts...dont bother ringing. No one is empowered to make a decision
despite having spoken to a manager...I am still without telephone service. They cannot understand unless it works with the script they are given.
We are a new customer waiting to be connected. I told the operator when I first called, that the wire to our house was not connected...its a new house. I could see the wire dangling from the telegraph pole. I said "it needs to be connected into our house "
This must have thrown them entirely..no one could understand what on earth I was talking about.
I then went through a series of phone calls with I believe almost every operator in "Post office telephones" kept getting cut off, left holding on for periods exceeding 50 mins at a time. Every time I got cut off or transfered I needed to go through the whole proceedure again. Name address, postcode account number. I went from pillar to post no one was able to do anything.
For me it was a simple request....Get someone round to connect the phone wire into my house.
just wished I had read some reviews before committing to them...Terrible useless!!

The Post Office slows down the line between 5pm to midnight during the week, and through all the weekend, making it practically impossible to use the internet at all, let alone stream TV or play games. Before signing up, they said that only heavy users are sanctioned like this, and as I am not anywhere near using their 100GB/month limit I assumed I would not be affected. How wrong I was.
They asked me to run speed tests on their site for 24 hours, except my connection was so slow that the page would either not load, or the test failed to complete and resulted in a time out error! The couple that did manage to get through showed that I had around 0.2Meg download speed, verses the 7Meg I have had with other suppliers - I live in a rural area.
Fortunately, as I had demonstrated that I had already attempted to improve the speed by doing various simple tasks already - wired rather than wifi, cleared cache, changed browser, etc - they have agreed to let me leave without penalty after only the one complaint to them. Although, since then, I have had a letter saying that an early cancellation fee of over £250 may be levied now that my new provider has been in touch, and that I need to get in contact with them to sort that out, which is tiresome to say the least. Scaremongering mass mailing like this shouldn't be allowed as I'm sure it will only frighten some people into staying with a crap service, or having to spend ages with their Customer Service on the phone trying to get to the bottom of it all again.

I have just spent the worst 3 weeks as a Post Office Telecoms customer, we had our switch on the 21st January 2020 and then spent 3 weeks with no Internet. I called 8 times and was told on 4 occasions that an engineer was coming out. I finally cancelled my contract after 3 weeks, They very nicely told me they would not charge me a cancellation fee, which considering they broke the contact on there end was a joke. An engineer finally showed up on 11th February and had the issue fixed with 1 hour, the exchange in town had no Internet connection as it had been unplugged. This could have been fixed at day 1 if they had send engineers out right away. No Compensation was offered and when I asked I was told it is not possible.
Never choose Post Office Telecoms

Very very poor from start to finish. Long periods of no connection happening several times a month the and customer service is clueless at how to resolve it.

I used to be happy with post office until around a year ago then it was as if they just checked out and were replaced by robotic, uncaring, lazy, incompetent bunch of thieves! I am absolutely DISGUSTED at the way I have been treated as a customer on all fronts since they decided to nose dive to a deep cesspit with rock bottom service. My experience the last year has been a very negative one and I am still waiting to get to the bottom of the fault they charged me a colosssal amount for months ago without having fixed the problem or even telling me they were going to suddenly rob me out of my account!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

It's early days but the initial signs are not good - the broadband connection is the worst I've ever had - like stepping back years - streaming a show is pointless due to the continual buffering. Yes it's the cheapest deal on the market, but my advice would be avoid - particularly if you need broadband for your work - it's painfully bad at times...

NEVER GET POST OFFICE BROADBAND!!!
This has the be one of the worst internet experiences of my life! The internet was down more that it was on! At the of end the day we still pay money for the internet so they should make sure it works spot on. Fair enough it might be slow but there’s no need for the whole internet to completely stop working for days! I try and call customer service and they are soooo rude it’s unbelievable. They said it’s no upfront cost when you first get the broadband but they’re lying because I had to pay £45. I cancelled my account on the end day of my contract and I paid my final bill but now they want to charge me £30... for what??? They’re robbing hypocrites!
NEVER EVER PAY FOR THIS ABSOLUTE AWFUL INTERNET!
you might as well pay an extra £5 for something more reliable.

I am absolutely incensed with the dreadful, dreadful so called service this bunch of lying thieves profess to offer. They have got to be about the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life! Their so called support is an absolutely non existent joke (but I'm not laughing) it is shocking they are actually allowed to trade at all. And they took almost £200 out of my account with no pre warning invoice or notification whatsoever for a so called service they never even gave me!! Unbelievable, stay well clear folks!

Only transferred to post office on 11th October and already I wish I'd stayed with BT. Only had internet for about 5 or 6 hours in that time. Excuse after excuse from rude technical supporters. Refused to let me cancel my verbal contract unless I paid 3 months charges. Said they would send a technician to try to fix the fault but the call out fee would be £144 ! It's working at the moment but if it goes off again I'll ring Ofcom. Sick of dealing with the so called customer service team, they're a joke

Seeing my same experiences in other reviews:
* Handover wasn't smooth - no connection on 'go live date'. Had to call up several times. On day operative didn't seem to know enough tech to give informed advice. Next day was told 'give us another 48 hours'! It didn't take that long - was actually quite quick from that point, but surprising anyway.
* Dropping out repeatedly, 8 days later (adding up to hours in last 24 - although the info says it may drop out in first 10 days, as router adjusts itself, a call confirmed this shouldn't be happening)
* First paper statement showed £10 extra charge than agreed - had to call again; was told was generic letter. No good - should be personal!
* Couldn't use certain apps on phone over wifi. Had to call again. Told 'Safeguard' was on and blocking - not acceptable. Big brother behaviour.
* Didn't think I'd been given a username (needed to log into account). Had to call again. Later found it in fairly small type, on back of letter 3/4 way down under heading 'Get started with My Account' - my mistake perhaps but needs to be more prominent with 'Username' clearly highlighted.
* Thinking I didn't have a username I tried to log in with customer number, as seemed possible onscreen, but was sent in circles. Agh!
* Website uses Flash Player to display bills. Firstly, I shouldn't have to download a player (with past security issues)to see my bill. And... it dosen't work anyway. Instead of my bill I see a copy of my own address bar with all by tabs etc. VERY disconcerting! Is my screen/ personal info being snooped on? How do I know? Used live chat. Operative told me to use another browser! Clearly I shouldn't have to download and use another browser to view my blinking bill! Then just gave me the number to call.
(Getting a bit hacked off by this point)
Staff on phone are generally lovely and native English speakers so points there. Speed (when it's connected is as good (so far) as with Sky.
Overall: so far a problematic service in early stages but hopefull, with decent speeds being seen, that it will settle and satisfy. More work & small twaeks needs done to iron our creases & increase user friendliness.

Tried to change to this isp, wish I had seen these reviews before my move, same sort of problems as most others, I phoned customer help line several times as the broadband was not connecting, they quoted me 2 days to identify the delay, the bod on the line kept interrupting me on the phone, and would not accept their mistakes, contacted. My bank and cancelled the payment authority, luckily no money out of my account, po were in breach of contract as they had not provided the services they had advertised that they would, a very near, and lucky escape. Phew. !

Worst internet I've ever had. Never had any problems with previous services. Only changed to Post Office due to price. Wifi is absolute rubbish. Keep losing connection on my smartphone. Internet takes a long time to actually work on PC (about 10 minutes). Wifi doesn't work on laptop at all (my wifi works perfectly fine elsewhere, such as at Premier Inn hotels, so the problem is most certainly not my laptop!). Customer service absolutely useless - trying to blame my computer, which was working perfectly fine up until the time we switched to Post Office broadband. I have just purchased an amazon fire tv stick and have now reached the end of my tether as it's constantly buffering/dropping connection meaning I cannot watch tv programmes and films smoothly. Tried watching a tv show on catch up this morning and it was buffering every 5 seconds. I have just signed up to a new broadband provider and am looking forward to being switched over in 2 weeks time. Avoid the post office at all costs!

Don't sign-up with this lot: their modems are poor quality and unreliable; their customer services is non-existent and they are totally incompetent into the bargain. I did without broadband altogether for most of last year and the promises I got from the Post Office for customer services to contact me; engineers to call etc never materialised. It took me hours of hanging on phones which aren't ever answered promptly and writing e-mails which often weren't answered at all before I was able to diagnose the problem myself: the original modem I was provided had given up the ghost and a replacement one didn't work. Six months at least without a service but they still took my money. I have gone to the Ombudsman about this but they are not much better although I have got at least a fraction of the money I paid for a non-existent `service' refunded as a result: the Post Office would have refunded me precisely nothing...

I got Post Office broadband in on 9th December, and as I write this review today on the 5th February I still don't receive a service. I have lost count of the number of times I have phoned up for assistance, only to be fobbed off. I have been told three times that an engineer would be sent out within 3 working days.... I'm still waiting! If anyone is thinking of signing up to this service,my advice would be DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER IT. Pathetic service and pathetic customer care, and that's me being kind.

Just been without a landline or internet for 16 days, all without explanation or adequate compensation. It took 13 days of recorded messages ("thank you for your patience") before we got through to a real person on the "customer care" line and an engineer was called.

Wifi connection drops all too frequently using provided router to the extent that it is unusable most evenings. I have been given the run around by Post Office customer services, who never answer in less than 15-20 minutes on hold to no avail. On one occasion I had to take a day off work to wait in for an engineer and nobody told me that the appointment was cancelled. After more discussions I am now told that they only guarantee internet, not WiFi, like it's 2003 all over again... Worst provider I have ever experienced.

poor in every respect.
Non-existent customer service, broadband isn't reliable, they take hundreds of pounds out of your account without telling you OR GIVING IT BACK. Will be in touch with the ombudsman over this.
Stay away from the Post Office at all costs.

So so awful. It's not a good sign that, when you ring the call centre, they tell you your postcode doesn't exist. I mean they're the post office for goodness sake! We waited nearly 3 weeks for them to send out an engineer when our internet died, and most of the time the speed is too slow to do anything. God knows what they've upped the price for. Literally no idea where they've invested that, because it's not in their customer service or in their phone or broadband lines!

Woeful speed struggling to get 6mbps and can be as low as 4 with constant drop out most of the time. Useless customer service who just follow scripts and then threaten you with a BT callout charge if you're to blame. The router looks like it cost 50p to make and the cables are like 1970's bell wire, no wonder it doesn't work!! Next stop is the ombudsmen.

Back to the 70's with the Post Office 'Premium' broadband. If switching broadband services on exactly (to within 5 mins) of the 2 week cooling off period expiring isn't bad enough, then the 0.2 Mbit/s speeds between 4pm & 12am will certainly convince you of the quality of this Crapita / TalkTalk rip off venture. Please also try the fantastic early exit option. It'll leave you £198 lighter. Nice touch debiting it on New Year's Eve too. I challenge anyone to get a surname from any of the 'customer service' team (for fear of reprisals) let alone an email address. Still fancy it? God help you.
PS 3 stars for consistently reliable joke of a 'service'.

I came across a "Deal" with PO Broadband while looking at alternatives for a friend who is paying through the nose with Virgin for a service they really don't need.
My internet access at the time was through my phone's 4G on GiffGaff paying £20p/m for unlimited calls/texts and 20GB Data.
I researched the PO Broadband, read the disparaging reviews but I figured for £15.90p/m for unlimited downloads I'd risk it.
I went through the sign-up process online, until it got to the credit check where the site basically froze-up. I closed my browser and thought that was that.
The next day I received an email thanking me for choosing PO Broadband, and provided a link to complete my order; which I did.
I received plenty of love-letters and texts from PO in the days that followed, and about a week later my Chinese ZyXEL AMG1302-T11C bottom of the range router arrived!
I knew I was taking a chance with the PO, and knowing that the service is basically run by TalkTalk, I obtained an "old" but far superior Huawei HG633 "Super Router" from a friend who used to be with TalkTalk.
I went live with the PO Broadband on Friday 25/01.
It took quite a few hours for the ZyXEL router to update with my new account settings.
During this time whenever I tried to use the internet my browser was being redirected to www.fujitsutr069.co.uk/cpe.php with a message stating I needed to login to use the internet.
I sent a msg to the PO via twitter @ po.st/I7EbNu, and they responded quickly stating that all I needed to do was install the security software.
I manager to download the software, which was "Fujitsu Internet Security 2013"! Needless to say, it wouldn't even run after installation due to services not being able to start. Now this may well be due to me not uninstalling my usual AV software (a product updated for 2019), but I'd rather keep my trust in a product that I know rather than a 5 year-old unknown!
In the end I didn't actually need the software, the redirection appears to be due to default settings in the router, and once the settings were updated I was able to access the internet via my browser.
I then backed-up the router settings, opened then .cfg file, retrieved my new Username/Password and entered the details into the Huawei router, connected that and I have been online ever since.
My speed is in the ball-park of that stated in my estimate, however downloads, and I pretty much mean ALL downloads appear to be throttled to about 10% of available bandwidth! This may be in the caveat that they say speeds may increase/decrease over the period of 10-days while they find the best connection... Doubtful, but I'll see...
Upload speed is a joke, both times I've run a Speed Test I'm getting just over 700Kbps! Again maybe this'll change in the coming days, but as it stands it's pretty woeful.
The following day, I received an email stating my bill was ready; I was unable to click the link in the email to take me to my account page as they had missed the "s" off of https:// in the hyper-link! A sure sign that the PO's attention to detail certainly isn't in their "Service".
Logged in to my account, went to view my bill, and nada; the site uses Adbobe Flash, along with pop-ups on it's billing pages!!! Firefox wouldn't have it, I had to use Edge in the end to make the payment!
So, in summary:
You get what you pay for, in this case cheap = inferior & outdated hardware & software; however if you prepare a little you can mitigate some of the impact of the PO's poor choices.
I haven't had any service outages, and when I contacted the PO via Twitter they responded quickly, albeit with inaccurate advice, but I expect people are just doing what they are told like good little sheep, unquestioning in their mindless pursuit of trying to obtain some disposable income...

I am being honest for this review, this post office internet it completely waste of money and time. I asked them to cancel on the same day service which I used and I have been informed I can’t do it, customer service was so bad and rude people. Can’t even download any application or watch anything online like YouTube it’s keep loading I wouldn’t recommend any body please please stay away from this post office. I don’t understand why we pay if we don’t get service (Internet). This is biggest mistake I ever done to chosen to select post office broadband.

Switched from BT hoping to save money. Paid for 5 months average speed 0.5mps. After hours on the phone they agreed they had no idea what was wrong and released me but insisting I pay them £23. Overall I paid them £75 and had no broadband for 5 months. So they deliver no broadband and claim I had access to the line so should pay, despite me only having called them RIP OFF POST OFFICE. GOOD BYE

I'm very pleased with the Post Office Broadband service.
We're getting speeds of up to 5.5mb which is about the same as the Talk Talk service we previously used. This is the fastest we can get in our area and is fine for things like YouTube.
The connection is reliable and the service is also a lot cheaper than the Talk Talk subscription we previously had.

After naturally accepting the transfer from Fuel Broadband in the summer, we've had nothing but continual dropouts (many per day) and at best 5.8mbps & 0.9 upload speed.
Lost count of the amount of phone calls I've made and the amount of 'try this' and 'try that'. Even though nothing has changed in the house and all of our previous providers gave an acceptable service, they make out it's a problem at my end. They eventually raised a 'ticket' and an 'invisible' Engineer fixed the fault on the line. Utter rubbish, it never happened, it's still no better. Any one got a magic wand?
