I have NEVER had such bad customer service! To start everything off the engineer who came out to install it was hours late and the shouted at me down the phone because he left something in my flat! We then barely had internet go about a month (4gb when paying for 30) when we called to query this they made us upgrade to fibre which we did, they then cut us off! Every time I called to find out why no one gave me a straight answer, some one even told us that we were never with talk talk and had to set up a new account! In the end I asked to cancel as we had spent over a month without internet, I was told there was a charge because I had to give them 28 days to fix the issue! If you're thinking of switching to them DONT!

Let's start with the positive, by comparison to a lot of their rivals they are cheap - that is the ONLY positive point I can think of relating to Talk-Talk. On the other hand you could say you get what you pay for....

Our broadband speed ranges from awful to totally unusable, often the broadband drops out totally and the only way to re-gain service is to re-set the router. Despite countless service calls and complaints to a number of extremely rude and aggressive customer service agents this has never been addressed, the only option they could offer was to upgrade to fiber which would then put their package cost on par with Virgin and Sky!

We have experienced numerous service outages (both broadband and phone), which is a serious issue when working from home, and with two teenage children studying GCSE's who rely on internet connection for research and homework. Each and every time we report an issue Talk-Talk refuse to acknowledge the issue could be with their service, always blaming the phone line connection inside our house (the issue it has always been a problem at the local exchange, or with their service).

I accept that things go wrong with technology from time to time, but my biggest issue by far with Talk-Talk is their contempt and utter lack of respect for their customers. All of their customer support agents are off-shore, so far the agents I have spoken with have a very poor command of the English language and work from a script - so the minute you have a question 'off script' they become quite disoriented and aggressive.

They are also not willing to learn from past experiences, we have had the same issue three times in a month and each time the agent insisted on opening a new incident and walking through a very lengthy fault finding process which ultimately didn't tell them a thing! The fault was at the local BT exchange and required a BT engineer to perform some magic.

Aside from their utter lack of customer service they have also tried to invoice me for BT engineers who have had to visit the distribution cabinets in the road to fix faults, when I refused to pay the invoice the agent threatened court action over the phone!

Unless you like paying for an extremely slow, unreliable service backed up by an aggressive, rude and ill-informed overseas customer (no)service department I would steer well clear of this incredibly unprofessional company. There are so many other options available that unless Talk-Talk address these inherent issues I cannot see how they will survive long term.....

I registered with them in on the 16th of August 2014, they couldn’t get the phone and broadband working till the 24 of September after several calls chasing for an engineer to come for installation.
Had an appointment booked with an engineer in which he dint turn up and could not bee informed he wasn’t going to show up, waited at home all day and yet I have been charged from the 16th August onwards for the services I hadn’t received.
I phone to query this issue they said they were going to take out charges for only August that I still had to pay for September. I expected them to adjust their billing date as I should only be charged from 24thof September onwards but they said they cant cause their system is fixed so now I have to be paying in advance of services I hadn’t use.
Their customer service is terrible, they wanted cheap labour cost so their call centre is full of Asians that certainly don’t understand or speak proper English, they haven’t got good knowledge of what’s going on my account. If I ask them question cant answer unless they put me on hold to go get answer from someone else.
The worst part I am been charged £14.50 for not having a direct debit which is not true has they sent me an email together with a letter confirming that they have received my bank detail how stupid is that.
Every month I have an issue with them always spending 2hrs on the phone as the customer service will put you on hold minimum of 45min before you can talk to a manager. It’s very frustrating trying to get them on the phone
I regret registering with them each time I tried to cancel they apologise just to keep me yet I have problem every month. Sometimes the broadband will not work and yet I have a fibre installation

We are moving our business premises to a new one a mile away in Welwyn Garden City.
We have been told by TT that we can't keep the number.
Is there any point of sticking with TT When we could easily need larger premises in a few years time. We know that changing our phone number lost us many customer from a previous time.

Terrible customer service who is very sorry and doesn't answer any questions, just repeats same thing all over again!
Each time I called them I was put on hold for min 40mins. I spent 2h on each phone call and problem not resolved.
Many times requested to speak to the manager. They refused.
Any changes you want to make to the account the contract has to be renewed for 18months!
Internet speed between 0.2-3.5 Mbps because I am 2.5 km away from the receiver. Ridiculous and frustrating

This company is a absolute joke. My husband and I decided to leave Sky, to join TalkTalk. When I called the customer helpline to join that part was fine it was after that call things went down hill. On November 24,2014. A engineer should of came out to put in a new telephone line and router. The appointment time which was arranged by the girl I spoke to the first time, and also confirmed by a letter. The appointment time was between 1.pm and 6.pm, after 6 I phoned TalkTalk to see what time the guy was coming out to do the job. I was told by the call centre guy in the the Philippines. The job was cancelled by them due to some issues with B.T Open reach and they would not be speaking to each other again till 28 November which is four days away, my Sky connection was being cut off on 27 November. I was given nothing but excuses and after 30 minutes of excuses I gave up and told them I was contacting Sky to reconnect with them. The Talk Talk staff member was not fussed and wished me a good night. Any one thinking of joining them should think twice.

Ok i am having a very mixed tie with these. Firstly was an error with my phone line internet worked but phone didn't for aprox 2 weeks after going live.

Had an engineer visit sorted it out by fixing the line it was free as the error was theirs and got credit off them for this and i received it as well.

I will admit to get it sorted it was hours of calls and getting no where.. But it eventually did get sorted.

I live in the country side the average speed by e at best is 4mbps with sky 2mbps with bt and so on. My speed is 22-26 on standard and i cant complain about that at all if it lags i do the auto test and it gets increased if drops (i test on ookla).

They take for ever to admit they are in the wrong but so do SKY, Three, T-mobile and EE..

So i get a great overall service internet wise it has only played up once since it was sorted and that was for a few minutes because hey are installing fibre optic in my area (so they say).

BUT their mobile service is terrible.

    1) i put a cap of £25.00 on and i still got a bill of £70+ still arguing this now...

    2) Did not give me the promised deal (double data was not added)

    3) Keep taking more out my account than they should.

    4) Their website is dreadful, you cant see amounts paid before your bill, it never updates the account balance in a reasonable time frame, you have to call to sort issues out.. This is a big problem in my opinion changing plan details and limitations should be available online because their call centre staff are terrible alot of the time.. A) cant understand you when you state problems B) They always pass you around and always contradict what they have stated before. C) They can be rude and very uncaring and alot of time lack basic english motor skills.

They are ok but its like walking through electric fences to get home, it can be worth it but sometimes you know there's an easier way.

I will not recommend talktalk to anyone ever, I've had countless phone calls to and from the customer service team to do with technical fault, I had the phone line and broadband a little over a month and I only signed up for the you view box 3 weeks ago. So because I want to cancel the TV they are telling me I have to pay £200 I am in shock!!! Terrible service I was in the phone for 1hr20min on hold I was just trying to tell them that I wanted to cancel... DONT EVER SIGN WITH THEM

Our broad band service keep being lost intermittently (every 15 mins) which is very frustrating for whole family. I have been in touch with customer services on several occasions and the service is getting worse. An enginers came to the house yesterday. He arrive an hour earlier than appointment, hence only my daughter was in the house. After 2 mins he left without explaining what he had done. Today the but left without explaining what he had done. I have had enough and am looking to switch supplier.

    F YOU’RE CONSIDERING TALKTALK, DON’T!!!
I have now had a broadband problem with slow speeds, 1.2Mb - 2.3Mb while being charged for 5Mb - 7Mb and frequent disconnections for the last 6 months now. Every time I ring for support, I get taken through a novice support procedure which results in exactly the same response, "We'll send an engineer out and bill you for it.". An engineer comes and diagnoses the issue as being a broadband issue and then calls a BT OpenReach engineer. A BT OpenReach engineer arrives and diagnoses the problem as being a talktalk issue, and talktalk needs to put a boost on the line. A few days later I get a text saying the problem has been sorted out, which it has not! And then told to text back "fixed" or "not fixed". After responding back "not fixed" The whole process starts again. Call up support, taken through diagnosis, engineer comes out, BT Engineer comes out, told it is a talktalk issue, get text asking to respond fixed or not fixed... NOTHING gets sorted out, and I have now come to the conclusion that talktalk have absolutely no idea what is going on, nor do, in my case seem to care. I can't believe customers are treated in this way, and find it very surprising that while all this is going on, talktalk think it is still ok to charge be for a service I do not get. It is absolutely disgraceful! Two days ago I may have worked out what the problem is, thanks very much to the BT OpenReach engineer that found out for me! Turns out talktalk has a 250:1 contention ratio on their lines. This means that up to 250 people can share the same line, and because I’m based in the sticks, means that is very much the case. In direct violation of the contract, and if I had have been told that at the beginning, would have saved me weeks of hassle. Basically talktalk are not investing in their infrastructure, and are fleecing customers. Contact terminated, hello BT! BT Guarantee 50:1 contention ratio, no quibble money back if my speed drops below 3 Mb, and a satisfactory deal and billing structure should they not be able to provide me with what I want. Turn on date is 3rd Dec, so will keep you posted if BT end up being the same...

I'm moving from Talktalk and although I am paying for the c**p service that I have been getting for the last year I now have virtually no service at all. They certainly did not keep any of their promises to sort out my problems and so it's goodbye and I can hardly wait.

Nothing but trouble since moving house. Was lied to and told fibre was available at new address. Talk talk claimed we had to start on basic then upgrade to fibre, another lie. We now have the worst speed ever and the modem is always red and needs switching off then back on. Sent us a new modem, nothing changed. Fraud team investigating over money taken out of account and talk talk couldn't explain why.

We have been to citizens advice over their absolute useless service but contract nearly up. Once we are out of contract they won't be receiving our custom ever again. Nothing in regards to compensation ever offered. I can't stress enough DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We now have 4g phones and tether and it is fantastic.

mis sold a contract while moving house, never received any paperwork to sign, the speed in my new house was very low and I was told fibre would speed it up, for the last 2 days I have had no phone line and the engineer who came out today said that my fibre hadn't been installed properly and that I hadn't been receiving fibre at all, I had been paying for it for months, told them there was no improvement to my speed and they blamed me, turns out it was their fault after all and even worse the engineer they sent out today has no idea about fibre broadband so he has no idea if it was the wires that was the problem, I have been told that to get out of my contract I have to pay nearly £300 (changes every time I phone) which includes my youview box which keeps freezing and turning itself off, customer service is an absolute joke, their best line is "i understand..." say what they have to just to keep you, I am off to trading standards on Monday as I have been paying for a service that I haven't been receiving so in my opinion that should make the contract (that I never signed) null and void. Can't wait to get away from talktalk had nothing but hassle for nearly a year in my new house. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

If I could give this less than one star I would. Been absolute nightmare from day one. Internet is on and off all the time. After what felt like 3 days talking to somebody in India, they sent a engineer out for free. He told me that was the best it was going to be as we were too far away from the exchange. They then sent me a bill for £50.00 and after what felt like another 3 days on the phone to India they told me that they had told me it would cost £50.00. Our speed is about 1.2 on a good day. We had sky, moved to talktalk but our internet is nowhere near fast enough for the tele package so that was a waste of time. Dont want to know once you have signed on dotted line, just keep telling me that that I am in 18 month contract. Contract is up in January so I am off asap. Whole experience has been a nightmare. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE = DONT LISTEN TO ADVERTS = ALL LIES

Our exchange is a small village exchange, 900 residential lines, 40 business lines... copper cable only.
For 8 years I struggled with TalkTalk Broadband paying £15 for broadband plus a mandatory £7.50 for Broadband Essentials (never did find out what that meant).
I had rubbish service all those years AND each time I contacted TalkTalk I was made to do the same stupid 20 tests. The problem was never my system or my phone line.
After years of discussion on TT forums I was told by a TT Moderator 'insufficient bandwidth - it will never improve' yet still TT kept taking £22.50 each month for a service they blatantly failed to provide. Through a 'contact' I was able to see inside the local exchange and WTheck! there was Local Loop Unbundling BUT not to improve my speed to actually cram my line in with other TT lines and squueze them into fewer BT lines going onwards. So LLU resulted in reduced bandwidth and rubbish service.. often less than 1MB download!!

I'm now with BT since 4 months and ALWAYS get 6.8/6.9MB download, without fail!! and it's cheaper.

Cheating TalkTalk knew they were doing things to maximise their profit by stuffing the speed of customers.. How bad is that!!!!!!!!

Maybe TT service is OK in larger, more modern exchanges, BUT if you are serviced by old copper wires then get to BT because TT will only take your money.

Gee, how I dislike the bad business erthics of TalkTalk.

Even the CEO management team acknowledge the above info but refuse to consider any refund.

What a bunch of poor service providers!!!

I am with TalkTalk, didn't join them as it got taken over from Tiscali, with TalkTalk it's been a nightmare, Tiscali it was okay, why? it's the 21st century and it's only a phone line after all.
I have had to phone them so many times I lost count, I have written to them many many times, sure I did get a letter answer back and that was only due to the content of my letters, so I phoned them as instructed only to be talking to someone who insisted on asking me "Is the land line okay? and are you talking to me on this line" yes it's the broadband that wont work, not the phone.
So they send a BT engineer out who changes the main phone box because it had a fault, but didn't cure my problem.
Letters again, calls again, please send me a new router, it's your laptop, it's a new Macbook pro, and the problem happens on a new Dell laptop as well, TalkTalk man comes out, cant fix it because it's a line fault, BT comes out, it's not a line fault it's TalkTalk dropping / cutting back the strength of the broadband in the exchange..."They do this" he said.
I get a new router which is rubbish, my friend 3 feet away in his office is with EE and gets 4.75 download, same exchange, i get 0.75 download, TalkTalk say his cable might be in a straight line but mine might have a curve in it....This is the crap you get from TalkTalk.
My brand new router is still rubbish, why don't I leave, would but have to have a new contract 12 or 18 months and I want to leave this business and retire, the last thing I want to do is another years worth of arguing with the idiots at TalkTalk trying not to pay the monthly costs because I broke the contract...Which they have never broke by taking my money under false pretences of calling them selves a broadband provider.
TALKTALK IF YOU READ THIS YOU ARE CRAP.

Broadband speed too slow. Measured at 0.22Mb. This is too slow to allow data downloads in a reasonable time. Also servicing a line fault took a whole week for an engineer to call. Fault was in the BT line installation.

Price 10/10. Complaints management 0/10. Ability and willingness to correct problems 0/10. Internal communications 0/10. Politeness 0/10. Consistent information 0/10. Willingness to apologies for their mistakes 0/10. As I say, cheap service.

I have been with talk talk for many years. Over that time the prices have gone up and the service down. As for customer service - whats that. They don't listen, understand or do anything to sort the problems out. You are lucky to find someone on the other end of the phone who understands or speaks english. If the sevice works it's ok but the tv rarely works and the youview box is so slow you can make a cup of tea while waiting for it to change channels. In short don't go to talk talk unless you want poor service people who don't speak English and fast rising prices for a service that does not work. Bright side the phone works fine to phone them up to complain if you want to be on the phone for hours!

I urge anybody that is thinking about going with talk for any of their services to think again. Worst mistake I ever made. I wish I had stayed with sky.

My talk talk broadband is fine when it's actually working, but the problem is that the broadband only works for five minutes at a time before dropping out. I have spent hours on the phone to them about this, I have had countless engineers come out and tell me it's fixed. It isn't fixed and I doubt it ever will be. Talk talk are dreadful, I have never experience a customer service that is as useless and unhelpful.

Simply the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I switched from sky to Talk Talk and once my contract was up decided to move back to Sky. I also moved house at the same and they tried to force me to sign a new contract which i did not want. they are now chasing me for £75 as my contract ended 7 days early when new people moved into my old house. Have made 5 phone calls and everyone i have spoken to seems incompetent and unwilling to help truly awful company avoid at all costs.

Talk Talk's services are appalling, broadband is very slow and download speed well below what was advertised. Unable to use any on demand / download services. Complained three times and no solutions have been forthcoming. No customer services representatives return calls, despite promising to do so. Very unsatisfactory service and product.

Nobody at my address has ever been a talk talk customer but still I get bills for a mystery woman through my door. Five years ago I complained for the first time but still they came. I complained again but no change. After the third time i complained a TV box turned up. Today I have spent over an hour on hold, been hung up on by four different idiots and been repeatedly lied to by talk talk reps and achieved nothing. I'll start saving up all the talk talk stuff I get now and send it back to them with no postage.
Never would i even consider taking any services from such a fifth rate company.

The worst broadband service ever exists. If you are just one person with one laptop, talktalk may be 'ok' for you but it's very unreliable. I'm a talktalk customer for more than 5 years, and every year they keep on increasing the bill and now it's even more. I don't mind paying the bill but you don't get what you paid for.

The broadband is slow most of the time and sometimes it will just cut off. I called them up but they said i have to pay(£50) for the engineer to come to my property.

Do not sign up to Talktalk unless you enjoy spending hours on phone repeating that you don't have the services you are paying for. Broadband ok after a month of nothing but TV has not worked since August. Talktalk finally agreed that I could terminate my contract with no charge but then sent me a bill for £469. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!

We joined up Talktalk 2 months ago when promotional voucher scheme £120 of high street shopping voucher was running. We did not receive the vouchers before our service went live. I contacted to terminate my contract a day before our service was due to go live and was put forward to cancellation/customer loyalty dept. They acknowledged their error and offered £120 of credit and assured us that this credit can be refunded to our bank account. We decided to keep the service. A month later we contacted customer services to obtain this refund, and was informed that no credit can be issued. Customer adviser was downright rude and hung up after I insisted they keep the promise made before the service went live. Customer services and loyalty dept kept blaming each other for not having the responsibility to issue the credit back to us. In the end we were informed that if now we wanted to break the contract we would have to pay a hefty cancellation fee _ administration charges to get out of the contract.

Broadband service has been appalling, 1.5-4.0 MB on a promised 18 MB package. Frequent daily drop outs in the service have made this the worst contract we have ever signed up to. We have used complained procedure and now in the midst of escalating this to ombudsman service to get compensation. Anyone thinking of signing up should avoid Talktalk altogether. Company ethics are comparable to mafia run service. Talktalk certainly do not deserve even one star rating I have been forced to give here.

I have no incoming calls apart from that other things work. To get this problem understood by their customer service, it is taking me near a wee. It is still on going I am afraid. Absolutley rubbish service. Customer service is in some place and they speak like robots not understanding what your problem is about. It goes on and on for weeks with your time and waste of money.I am als looking for compensation as I lost lots of business due to this bad service.

When I first upgraded to Fibre due the the really poor basic speed I was told I could receive 38 Mps and that was confirmed by the Open Reach Engineer when he upgraded me however within a few weeks it became clear that I was getting less than 16 Mps a long and difficult journey thanks to the worse Customer Service Centre ever an Open Reach Engineer came out and boosted my speed back up to the mid 30s after a few weeks it went down to about 24 Mps but seem to settle at that. Then recently it started to slow down again its now 16 Mgs.The bad news is that in that time Talk Talk Customer Services has actully got worse if thats possible.A simple question "Why should I be paying the same price as the lucky people who are getting 38 Mgs" Its a total con.Talk Talk might claim to be cheaper but Customer Service is awful and trust me with there service you will be calling them.
