    Avoid talk talk there is a reason why they are so cheap ! Firstly they advertise fibre broadband the speed of mine was terrible even though I had the highest speed they do it also Cutts off at least 3 times a week sometimes for 2+ hours one time it was for 5. When I phoned up customer services they was useless no apology or explanation. I moved house with one month left of the contract talk tall renewed my contract without no conversation with me and without me knowing ... 3 months down the line they contacted me via phone and said I owe them 150 pounds. I asked why etc and said I have had no contact to renew it I don't live there so I'm not paying. They also wanted me to pay 350 cancellation fee or carry on paying the monthly amount I refused this. After sending the ceo numerous emails without any response I phoned the helpline asked to talk to a manager they couldn't help and escalated the problem this happened 5 times ! On the 6th manager they said if a pay 75 pounds they will cancel my account for free. So I payed it as this had ruined my credit rating ( went down from excellent to poor ) as they sent it to baliffs. When I payed it they processed 3 payments for 75 over 5 days I then had to phone them and escalate the problem to another 3 managers they then said it was a error and they will refund me the full amount in 5 working days. 6 days passed no money so I phoned again they said it will be there in 3 working in 3 days it eventually got put in my bank account but wasnt the full amount so had to phone back they have refused to pay the rest even though it's 75 the owe I have gone to citizens advice they contacted on my behalf and 8 says later got the money back.

    The worst customer service same questions asked when past from pillar to post they always so sorry, go with them expect to spend many a hour on the phone ,when you have broadband speeds of 0.3 meg

    Just terrible! slow speeds, cuts out constantly! Then to top it off you get the most un trained customer service who have no idea! Stay away from them and go somewhere with good reviews!

    AWFUL company, avoid at all costs!!

    Customer service is dreadful, we was a new customer and was treated poorly. They cancelled our order without informing us and without confirmation from us.

    "Wayne Anthony" the complaints manager kept making excuses and was not apologetic.

    Just set up with TalkTalk, theyre customer communication is shocking. They emailed me saying that I would no longer require an engineer to set up the broadband, then the day after one turns up at my front door! No email to confirm this would happen. I was at work at the time, he called me I believed it to be a scam until I got home n saw he had left a card. I called talktalk n they said they had not sent an engineer and this man was an imposter. Ok, so I thought the internet connection would get better overtime, I called this morning to complain why I was only getting 0.3 Mbps and talktalk then told me they sent an engineer but I wasn't home! Terrible customer service!

    Up until a month ago I couldn’t really complain about Talk Talk as a provider, however since then I have not had a good word to say about them. First of all we moved house and made Talk Talk aware of this and they confirmed they had chan he s our address. The internet worked out our new address for a day and then went down. We spent a few days talking to numerous people on there app and trying to call to get down to the problem and eagh time we talked to someone new they just repeated what the previous person said. Some even stopped conversations with us mid conversation and passed us on to someone else who then started from the beginning of t he troubleshooting process even though we told them what we had already tried. We finally arranged for a engineer to come out and fix the problem and we double checked they had the right address which they confirmed but guess what... when the time came the engineer went to the wrong address and couldn’t come to our new address due to policy reasons. He was furious too as he couldn’t get through to Talk Talk either to understand why he’d been sent to the wrong address. My partner is a teacher and during this pandemic has been trying to teach from home when she’s not in school emailing and contacting parents and children to help them with work. She has ran out of data on her phone twice and had to buy more just to help reply to questions asking for help from her students. She’s also had to make extra trips into her school to try get some work done which she couldn’t do at home due to no internet, adding to the health safety risk she’s already under teaching children of key workers. Talk has said on numerous occasions that there technical support team was going to call us and has never done so. They did call once to which we answered but they hung up within 3 seconds of us answering the call. We have changed provider because of this terrible service, as while they charge a cheap rate and the speed of the broadband is okay, there’s nothing worse than poor service when something goes wrong especially when they don’t even act like they care and considering the current climate which has put my partner and family at risk by having to make more trips outside when we should have been in lockdown limiting our time spent outside. Horrendous service I would not recommend going with Talk Talk just for the rubbish service. You’ve been warned, I’d much rather pay the extra couple pounds a month and go with someone more reliable. I don’t normally review products but felt like the bad service in this unprecedented time was unreasonable as at no pint we’re we kept updated about what was being down to resolve our problem.

    Broken promisses: initially TalkTalk connection did not work, so I wanted to cancel by excercising my 14 days sstaturory rihgt. They said they would send an engineer free of charge.

    Engineer discovered no fault at my side, and TalkTalk resolved the issue somehow at their end. I was charged £50 anyway, so in effect they lied to me twice: first they promissed not to charge me the £50 even if a fault is discovered at my end, second their policy is not to charge if no fault at the customer end is found.

    I've been with TalkTalk for 2 years, now I am quitting and going back to BT, the main reason being that there is no internet connecton ca 30% of the time, and this is a bit too much.

    My advice: steer clear.

    I ordered Fibre 65 service from Talk Talk which has a headline speed of 67MB. The service speed is stable bur never gets above mid 30s. Talk Talk advisor told me that the expected figure should be around 36MB. i could have got 38Mb service a lot cheaper from other providers.

    Worst service EVER. My connection was supposed to be a fast fibre; it worked at times and when it did it was super slow. If you want to leave them, God be with you; the guy pretended he could not find my account (lol), when he did, I have been put on hold for 40 minutes and then someone decided to hang up the phone. This happened 4 times in a row. I only managed to quit when I threatened them with a legal action. Im so glad this is over. Never join Talktalk.

    Avoid there an absolut joke i lasted a whole 2 days with them i had one customer service adviser tell me complete nonsense and the other was just rude they had the cheek to say they are waving there early leaving fee talk talk your a joke you cant charge a leaving fee within the first 20 days and i had enough in just 2 days

    Talk Talk is a scam. STAY AWAY from them I left them last year as service was terrible, and so called them and gave my 30 days notice. Only now in 2015, i find they have been charging me and never closed my account as the person i spoke to failed to put a notice on my account.They had me on the phone for an hour, spoke to 6 people and all they said from their script is that i must pay as the account is not closed. This behaviour is criminal. Terrible service.

    Big mistake. I should have studied all these reviews before switching. Switched to talktalk on 8th March, 2017. Initially speed was 14Mbs, and I expected it to rise as the line stabilised. Wrong! By Sunday 9th April the speed had dropped to 7.5 Mbs.
    On Tuesday 11th the speed was around 9.5. I called the talktalk help line and ended up in South Africa. The "Technical Advisor" could suggest nothing better than resetting the router or sending out an engineer. I wasted 35 minutes talking to her. When I asked to speak to a manager, none were available, nor were "engineers". I asked for a UK support number and was told none existed.
    Every attempt to conatact on 0800 or 0870 numbers ended up back in South Africa.
    Don't even consider this provider.

    Please, if you value good customer service as well as your own time and sanity, do not give your business to talk talk. I joined them 6 months ago after 7 years with Sky, attracted by their almost too good to be true introductory prices (turns out they were!) and have had nothing but constant battles with them in that time due to the WiFi not working intermittently on a day to day basis. They suggested I pay more for their faster broadband but please note, this isn’t a speed issue I’ve been having, it’s a WiFi not working at all issue. They then offered to fix the fault over the phone, which worked for about a week before it broke again (I’ve done this around 6 times now). Finally they offered to send an engineer who was due to arrive today and guess what? He didn’t turn up. I’ve now been on the phone to them for an hour trying to cancel my contract without having to pay the cancellation fee given that they have broken the contract by not providing the service promised. No-one on the phone seems to be all that bothered and I’ve been told I’ll need to speak to 3 separate people in order to cancel the contract due to the structure of their organisation. I’m currently on hold waiting for the third and final person... who knows when they’ll answer. I can foresee an ongoing battle to waive the £51 cancellation fee but regardless, I will be cancelling with them today and I guess heading back to sky with my tail between my legs... if you’re considering them, my strong advice is to stop now. Sky/BT all the others probably have their faults too but at least they have some semblance of good customer service and in my experience, are willing to handle complaints quickly and efficiently. You won’t get that with Talk Talk.

    Update: after 48 minutes they hung up on me. Called again to try to cancel and as I was being ‘transferred to a manager’ they hung up again. Interesting ploy to make it impossible for you to cancel. I guess I’ll just have to cancel the DD.

    Trying to get issues resolved with customer services is a nightmare - they bounce you from department to department where you have to listen to same scripted speech in some vain attempt to beat you into submission to stop you from contacting and making a compliant - AVOID AVOID AVOID

    Woeful company, terrible service. I will never use TalkTalk again! I have never been able to get through to customer services, and I have been left on hold for up to 3 hours before. Please, don't ever use this provider.

    My internet kept going, first it was once or twice a day, then more regular, then after a few days it was cutting out every 10 minutes. I contacted TalkTalk who text me to say "We have found a fault and we need to send an OpenReach engineer to fix it...

    ...(cont) The appointment is free in most cases, but you could be charged £65.00 if you are not at home when the engineer arrives, or other circumstances detailed in the TOC"

    The engineer came but couldn't find a problem (I was at home when he came). I'm not stupid and can diagnose a problem, so there was no issue my end of loose cables or anything. The engineer said 'they might have been doing work elsewhere, which has caused issues with your connection"

    Now to me that isn't my problem. To TalkTalk, they clearly think that it is/was my problem as they have charged me £65.00 for the engineer coming round to deal with a fault that they said they'd found that he couldn't find.

    I am still finding my internet cutting out a couple of times a day, but obviously I have to live with this now as I can't keep paying £65.00 for them to send someone to look and find no fault with their shoddy service. Poor

    The worst company overall,at least decent prices,you are years behind the internet speed in europe ,but when it comes time to talk about money you know how to suck the life out of everyone.Every internet provider in UK are just like leeches,ready to suck you dry.At least offer a decent connection and decent speed.

    It seems unnecessary given the amount of reviews here, but I'd just like to add another - I would avoid Talktalk like the plague.

    Having moved house to a new place that already had a Talktalk line my only option was to pay nearly £200 to have my old contract cancelled - all I wanted was to remain a customer!

    Six months later it's still going on - I threatened to leave and they backtracked, promising I could change the contract to another one and give one month's notice - needless to say there conveniently "isn't any record" of this, and now I'm getting demands for another payment.

    They even have the cheek to have their computer demand payment when you call BEFORE you can speak to an operator - pretty much sums up their attitude to their customers.

    Since ive joined talktalk its been a NIGHTMARE! Been with them since July 2017 and had issues from the first day! Ive stuck to them as everytime I wanted to leave they threatened me with a disconnection fee of over £200. But NOT TODAY AS IVE HAD ENOUGH... Was on the phone for 4 whole hours nearly 5 trying to resolve an issue. 2 members of staff were sooo rude one screamed on the phone to me and when I asked to speak to the manager she
    Said thanks I will now lose my job! How proffesional!?!? Im just shocked it doesnt even sound real!! The customer service ive recieved from them over the past months has been sooo awful. The level of disrespect ive had from them is unbelievable and shocking. Usually theres always just one bad staff but in my case my goodness is constant! And only from talktalk. AVOID at all cost. Even I have to pay bit extra elsewhere I will for better customer service!

    Terrible terrible internet. Slower then my last internet provider before I had moved (virgin media) and it constantly drops out. Literally every 20 minutes it completely stops working and I have to either wait 10 minutes for it to come back on or reset the router. I find myself constantly using my phone tethering to get work done which is costly and ridiculous considering I'm paying for dedicated internet. To top it off the customer service is dreadful; very unhelpful and it took months to actually get the internet set up. When the guy came round to install it he tried plugging it in said our phone line was incompatible (which according to the website it wasn't) and then just left without saying anything. Took us 3 phone calls to find out that it was compatible and that he just needed to use a microfilter. After having the dropping out problems we've been on the phone to them numerous times and they just go through the same process everytime (is everything connected etc..) And they at the end when it is they basically say they don't know what the problem is. Despite this to cancel it it will cost us almost £100. Very unsatisfied and I'd advise anyone to go with virgin media if they can get it in their area (unfortunately we cannot) either way, just stay clear of talk talk.

    Like most utility companies, customer service is appalling.
    Be economical with the truth, sell the product, then grow cloth ears - quite a strategy but TalkTalk has it off to a fine art.
    Regarding the product: Speed is nowhere near what's claimed, reaching 5mbps download is a struggle. Reliability is poor; speed frequently strangled and occasionally cut off, sometimes for hours at a time.
    Wifi hub isn't the best and I reverted back to an old one.
    TV box and package are a total waste of time. VERY slow to open. Not the easiest to navigate. Can't record. clearly designed to make you spend more. Needs ethernet cable.
    Whilst I'm well aware that other providers are every bit as bad, I'm still moving to a new contract that'll at least save me a few quid.

    Talk Talk is without a doubt the worst internet provider I have ever been with.

    I am on the fiber150 deal and without fail, my connection cuts out numerous times every day. When the connection is on my speed is never above 13MB. As I work from home this has been causing me numerous problems. On my package, I have was promised by the salesman a minimum of 100MB. however, when looking at my contract this promise is actually a maximum and not a minimum - this is very sly from Talk Talk.

    Now on to the customer service. Talk Talk customer service is NOT open every day, so if you encounter a problem on one of the 4 days it is closed, which I GUARANTEE you will encounter numerous problems on these days, then there is nobody to speak to in order to help resolve the issue. When I have managed to speak to someone every time I am told that there is no in fact no problem with my connection. Even though it is cutting out at numerous intervals every day. Instead of helping to reslove any issues teh customer service team spend more time trying to lay the faults at your door. For example, one agent told me that the problems are my fault and that I should get a table, place it directly in the middle of my room on a table and place the router on it. I almost choked with laughter.

    So to conclude, please LEARN from MY MISTAKES and never give this company your money.

    Customer service is appalling. Every time I phone the process takes about an hour. You have to hold to speak to someone, and when you finally do they are very slow to respond or to do anything. Over and above this the service is unreliable and gives constant problems.

    TalkTalk is the worst internet provider ever.
    No one should use it, and if you do, you have to leave them as soon as possible. Their advisors are useless as most answers are generated by machine. I had a problem with speed issues as it was less than 1 megabyte and I was always ignored.
    I've decided to go further and registered a complaint, do you think anything happened? Nothing! After 1 month I've made another complaint, and it was ignored again. I result when I asked one of TalkTalk advisors what is happening with my complaints? He said, the they are marked as resolved.
    The first time they actually called me and asked what is happening was only when I stopped my direct debits. In result when I was trying to break the contract, i was given different number for termination fee, first time it was 70£, then it was 50£, in result I've got a bill of 192£, which is totally stupid. I've decided to paid it off as it was worthless to speak to anyone of them, as I was always ignored, same felling as speaking with a wall. And even after I've paid that amount, they can not correctly terminate my contract and can not event send me my receipt.

    No one should use TALKTALK, you will have more problems than benefits.
    It is the worst provider ever and must be closed and investigated by police

    The most shocking experience of my life getting through this phone call !!!!! Was on a phone to a lady to start with 20 mins and all in that time what happened I had to give my surname 10 times my postcode at least 15 and she responded it was me saying it wrong I said it very slowly and clearly and she wasn't understanding me at all after all that the phone cut of so I had to call back and go through all this again to then be on the line 30 minutes to then be told I after be at home for these checks what a absoulte joke and your broadband is shocking more then one device and that's it plays up if I don't not get a faster response when I call back tonight and some one who can understand me and help me instead of been on the phone hours I will not be paying my next bill and also I have a child who shouts be every 5 minutes you think I have time to repeat my last name and post code 30 times !!!!!!!

Internet keeps falling, MOVING HOUSE PROCESS TAKES 2 WEEKS, and while they tell you in your contract you are guaranteed 50mbs download speed at least it doesn't even offer 30mbs. Not only that, the live chat and customer service ARRE USELESS. Literarly the worst live chat and staff ppl who can't deal with anything, literarly utter ****.

    If I could give TalkTalk a 0 I would. do not use them.
    1. They lied- said they install ariels and to get the TV
    2. Called back to schedule the ariel after our TV arrived, claimed they didn't say that and I was stuck with the TV
    3. finally got to return the TV package
    4. sent us the wrong size bag to return items
    5. it support hung up on me when asking about how to set up mini starter kit since no helpful links on their own website
    6. said they didn't charge for the TV until it was plugged in- 60 pounds later... I was charged
    7. given late fees since their bank messed up on direct deposit
    8. internet drops constantly
    9. calls drop constantly
    10. whatever you do pick another company.

    This company is the worst. There customer services is the worst i have ever dealt with. They are patronising unhelpful and do not listen they will talk over you as though they are just reading from a script. Television never works or is slow and never loads. Internets not too bad but not as quick as virgin or sky at all. I would avoid this company spend a bit more because although tqlk talk is cheap you pay for what you get a cheap service

    I have been with talk talk for 3+ years with endless problems and the amount of time i have wasted speaking to their customer service staff is ridiculous.
    I have finally escaped their grasp.
    They really are very unprofessional, mislead, offer you "deals" that are worse than what you are on already and try to make the process confusing to hide the charges, 3 contracts at different stages over the 18 months where you need to keep adding dates to your calendar so you so dont get overcharged.
    I was told when i was out of contract (2 weeks ago) one deal which was competitive but when i rang back i ended up spending over an hour on the phone to be mislead and attempted to be sold a higher package than what i was paying out of contract. The "other deal" mysteriously had vanished.
    I have been cut off by them more times than i have fingers, i have been placed on "hold" for 10 minutes at a time sometimes as i am passed between 2,3,4 members of staff. And if you ever have a technical issue it wont get resolved, if you had the time....
    I have also proved they have put caps on my speed, which only got resolved by "conversation", not by any engineer. to date i only got 50mbps on fiber large, where my neighbor received near full 80.
    To add to this point ( as there excuse is always the your equipment to your house can reduce the speed ) If you pay for 40 mbps you end up received less than 30mpbs. So figure that.

    Last time i was put into a new 18 month contract i also didnt agree to it, but somehow was signed up at their end anyway.

    Their whole attitude is wrong, and seem to be more concerned about making commission while pretending to be doing your a favor.

    The only positive i can say is they have been cheaper than some competitors in the past, though not currently on what they were offering me, but is it really worth the hassle to be with them, i think if they were £5 cheaper a month id still attempt to avoid them.

    Crap from start to finish nothing but messing me around then lost internet for 10 days messed around with engineers today has been the final straw they have basically stole £65 extra on this months bill refusing to refund me due to their error have just switched to a new provider tonight but would steer clear these are out to steal from you

    Honestly, TalkTalk is the worst ISP there is out there. I am honestly surprised it only took 30 seconds to load up this web page because the connection is atrocious considering I am 3 meters away from the router. Don’t bother trying to call them because you will get passed around more times than the amount of times you have to turn the router off and back on again. I have a stronger connection between myself and my biological dad whom I haven’t seen in 17 years than all of my devices have with TalkTalk as the internet connection.
    DO NOT CONSIDER THIS ISP.

    The connection is disgusting. The speed is low. During the first year, everything was in order. And now every day the quality is deteriorating.
