I have never had broadband with anyone but sky but it was time for a change due to the increasing costs and not completely happy it’s range in my new house. (a small 3 bed semi.) On a whim one evening I signed up with PostOffice and then spent days panicking and wondering if I should cancel.
Anyway, changeover day and I didn’t have broadband my midnight. Still didn’t have it my 9am the following morn so I phoned. Turned out it wouldn’t connect fully until my home phone number was passed over from sky (even though I don’t actually put in w home phone, just use a mobile). This could take up to 48 hours. Not mentioned in the paperwork anywhere! Man told me I’d be compensated but just got first bill and it’s for full amount. In the end I was connected by the end of the day. And I must say I’m more that happy with the actual broadband.
It gives me more coverage in my own house than sky did.
I have a spot in my kitchen where my mobile would not connect to my to WiFi when on WhatsApp but it does with Post office. Sky rarely worked in my garden and I usually gave up and went onto 4G but I’ve been on full WiFi in my garden with post office. In my bedroom, upstairs, above the living room where WiFi hub was, I could only get WiFito use for Netflix on tv if bedroom door was opened but can now get it with door closed.
Today, tv was on which uses WiFi for amazon and Netflix (I have no aerial so reply completely on WiFi for tv) 4 iPhones connected, 1 laptop playing a movie and all was great.
Saw a review saying that it won’t connect to WiFi printers but it connected to mine via the wps button on the WiFi hub.
So, a couple of issues to start with but now it’s up and running it’s better than sky. Shame I’ll need to move again in a year when the price goes up!

Avoid this internet provider and go with somebody more reliable. The signal constantly drops out in the evening. You're paying for an internet connection and for several hours a day in the evening you don't get one.
Also, be warned. I've just opted for a new provider in the hope it actually works this time.
It takes a couple of weeks to get a new connection sorted so make sure that is done before the end of your last Post Office bill. I have three or four days gap with the Post Office and they are charging me a full month at a much higher price for this privilege. A shoddy service and I'll be having nothing to do with them once I have had to stump up this bill.

We live on a farm at end of the phone line in rural Yorkshire, so broadband is going to be fantastic.

However the broadband speed that Post Office would suffice for general internet use and occasional movie streaming. However the actual speed was only 2/3 of what was suggested.

What really got our goat was when the contact ended and our bills went up from roughly £20pm to £27 then to £37. When we phoned up to speak to them, they were very rude and told us it was our own fault for not knowing when our contract ended and it isn't current legislation to notify us and when I told them Sky let you know the operator said he had his broadband with Sky - when I questioned why he had a package with Sky and not Post Office he quickly moved me on to his usual bullsh!t spout about terms on conditions.

Avoid them like you would the plague. Pay more for a better service.

The broadband keeps cutting out not sure if it is the router or the system. At peak times the speed can be slow but its not that bad...providing the connection doesn't cut out which happens nearly daily.

I could not agree more with all the other reviews, I wish I had read the reviews before I switched. I get silly low speeds and frequent drop outs. Their response, whilst always polite, is to try to get me to upgrade to fibre (at no discount) which, for all I know, probably doesn't work as either and would trap me in an even more expensive contract. As it stands having endured 4 months of a 12 month contract it would cost me over £100 to escape. I am really kicking myself.

Absolutely appalling service, engineer unable to install new line so rang to chase up new engineer, get passed from one department to the next, horrible hostile and rude call staff, incompetent managers. They cancelled my order without authorisation but still happy to debit my account. Beggars belief how they are able to get away with it.

Beware , just joined because cheap deal But the router they send will not connect to a wireless printer!
They know this but will not disclose to new customers, you find out later !
They advised to get a “3rd party router” which I did, an old one lying around and reconfigured it myself .

I have been with p.o. for 4 years because I have moved home twice within 2 year they forced me to renew my contract just to transfer my landline across to my new address, STEER CLEAR of these cowboys they are useless and abysmal.
My broadband goes down at least 3-4 daily I have rang them at least once to twice a month because the device is so bad, yet they don't give me any reasons to why it is terrible.
I have had engineers out in total about 13 times because p.o. says it's internal faults when it is impossible because when I moved into my new place I got all the rewiring done and the rewiring of my router and lines from them, they tried to charge me for an engineer to come out once too.
They are the pinnacle of crap and I am currently having a verbal battle with them because I'm threatening to cancel my direct debit.

I would have given zero for all the ratings if that was possible.Had to be the worst experience of my life and a waste of hard earned money.Customer service, broadband none existant, had 24 hours of not being able to stream anything and have to use my mobile data because the broadband keeps dropping out.
One day is more than enough have arranged to get connected to another provider.
    Avoid at all costs.

Moved to the Post Office from Sky. Wish I'd never moved - internet constantly drops and there is no one available to help.
I've raised multiple tickets and still to this day not even had an acknowledgement that my ticket has been received/assigned.

To be honest I wish I hadn't gone for the cheapest supplier and instead stayed with Sky or another reputable supplier as there is nothing worse than when the product is not working and no one to help you.

AVOID and pay a few £ extra for a proper service!

Post Office Broadband is the worst service I have ever encountered. Lots of buffering and regular shutdown of service - never had that with ANY previous suppliers, EVER, since the creation of the internet! Just a word of advice for others being fed a load of lies by these charlatans - take pics every time the red light appears on the router - they can’t dispute those facts which, in screen-shot form, have a date and time. Also, make formal complaints by email and demand all replies by email - so everything is in writing - just in case you need to go to the ombudsman later. I now even have - in writing from a complaints officer - that the red light is actually, wait for it “a security feature.” I will not let these buffoons get away with providing a partial service yet they readily take their full fees as if they provided a perfect service. Another engineer visit is now lined-up for next Monday but I don’t really expect any miraculous results. We’ll see, but I am going all the way with this one and will not give up until I get a very substantial refund, a huge apology in writing and an acknowledgement that this so-called service is actually some very clever scam!

I’ve had broadband for many years with many different providers and have never noticed any difference between them whatsoever - until getting Post Office broadband. It is awful: unreliable (intermittently disconnecting 10 times a month), slow (half advertised speed 10 days a month) and no customer service at all (they denied I was experiencing loss of service!).
I would never use Post Office for any service every again!

Just awful, their customer service is about as low as i've ever experienced in addition to the poorest broadband connection i've ever had, they've immediately said there is an internal fault with my line (there isn't) and i need to take a full day off work for an engineer to visit. the 14 day cooling off period is eaten up by their slowness of actually connecting you, so mine was over before the connection went live. It's cheap for a reason, avoid at all costs.

BUYER BEWARE- 14 DAYS WITHOUT INTERNET!!!
The short story is the Post Office left us internet-gazumped. For 14 days, imagine- no streaming services, my wife (who is studying her Masters) unable to study, we both unable to work from home- having to have work conference meetings at relatives’ houses etc. A complete nightmare.
    Here is what happened
The horror stories are true. But with the Post Office, the experience was so bad before I had even got my broadband. I purchased the broadband through the Post Office website. They contacted my then-provider. As my custom was going over to the Post Office, the then-provider in-affect begins the switch-over process. Please note, that once this takes place, the then-provider is unable to cancel the cancellation of their services unless the Post Office makes the request. I was informed (by the then-provider) they had received the request for a switch-over and it would happen in 15 days’ time.
One week later I received an email from the Post Office saying they had rejected my order because the landline information was incorrect. After speaking to the then-provider, I confirmed the landline details. Rather than complete the existing order, Post Office created a new order.
A day later I received another email rejecting my order again, this time because “someone had already put in a request to take over the line”. When I pointed out that someone was them, they told me they were unable to complete the order until the initial 15 days was complete then is would be a further 14 days until they could provide the internet. And because my then-provider had begun the switch-over process, they were unable to continue the internet to that time because they hadn’t received a request to cancel the cancellation, once Post Office rejected the first order.
Confused? Try spending 3 hours on a Saturday on the phone trying to find out what went wrong…

Chose the Post Office thinking it would be a reliable brand. Signed up just over a couple of years ago. Wasn't expecting it to be fast due the area which I had just moved into. It wasn't, and was constantly going off. Renewed the contract after 12 months even though it had noticeably increased to in price to find the service had gone worse. Was going off more often and was getting even slower, every time I rang them they said they had tested the line and the fault was internal. After the second contract ran out I went on Go Compare and got a good deal with SSE, nearly half what I was paying, plus it included mobile calls. Been with them around three months now, internet has never gone off and the upload and download speeds are fantastic. The Post Office router is very cheap looking compared to the SSE, maybe that's part of the problem.

Don’t bother.......I singed up for an 18 month contract, terrible download and upload speeds, customer service is rubbish, constantly had phone calls from a robotic voice telling me my bill was overdue dispite it being paid. It is very cheap compared to other providers, but you get what you pay for, better pay the extra few pounds wash month for a decent service, I will never use them again!

Have joined Post office Broad band,
3 weeks ago, what a bad decision that was,I just wish I had read the reviews first before joining,
I getting much same problems as in these reviews, speed drops or goes into limp mode, every day totally unreliable, I have made 6 phone calls to them, sent in 6 speed tests, they say I am getting what was promised on the speed & are closing my complaint, I told them I will not except their decision on this & I am going back to SKY, lesson I have learned is look @ customers reviews before sighing up, wish I wish I had.

I literally cannot fault my broadband didn’t work til 4pm on the day of go live date as I had to ring and get the line refreshed but the gentlemen that helped me knew exactly what needed doing and sorted it within minutes. I had problems with talk talk with buffering and my iPhone not connecting to the broadband and I can honestly say I am over the moon a week on not a single problem and I live in a high rise block of flats which isn’t exactly the best for broadband connections

It simply doesn't work. Dial up quality.

Firstly, my router arrived 7 days late with no further explanation so I had no connection during that time.

Now I have had "broadband" for 2 days with them and my current download speed is 0.15Mbps! I cannot even work so I need to go to the library.

    Avoid!

Avoid at all cost. The worst company ever. They sent an engineer to install a new line in my elderly parents house . The engineer disconnected their virgin phone line and left them without a phone line. They told me to get virgin to fix it and it was nothing to do with them and it was up to us to contacts open reach ourselves. My father is 89 years old we went back to virgin and said good riddance to this shower. A full 10 days without phone yes even the virgin one due to their engineer. Unbelievable

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! They keep taking my direct debit on the wrong day and don't rectify it i’ve asked three times. The. Tell me i’ve Never asked. The broadband drops of 20 times per day, they blame everything but their own **** show of a service. I signed up to the 12 months at £15.90. I’m pulling it out as soon as my new sky hub arrives. I have 6 months left to run, i’ll Pay for the two side by side until the contract is up. Never ever again will I use this utter excuse for a service.

I subscribed because of the cheap monthly fee. A mistake. The router is alsways slow, it hangs 3 or 4 times a day and no service at all 2 or 3 times a month. Takes me back to the computing of the 1990's. This PO service would have been fine in the days of 8086 processors and Windows 1 but is totally inadequate for today's hardware and software demands.

Absolutely raging with this company, Post Office should continue to do wat they do best and deliver our letters and packages etc cause they sure as hell cannot deliver broadband. My order was in mid April 2019 Last month and Activation was May 1st 2019 for Superfast post office style Landline and Broadband........ Wait is it no like the 11th May today..... STILL NO DIAL TONE..... STILL NO BROADBAND.... honestly I phone up every day sometimes 2 days depends how busy I am. I get the same old story. Waiting on an answer back from Openreach enginees, which fair enough was cool to hear at the star, but wen ure 5,6, 9, 11 days over supposed activation date getting emails and text messages saying -

'Great news - your Post Office Unlimited Broadband - 12 month contract service is now live. You can manage your account online from pobroadband.co.uk and use the great features.

It just utterly confuses you annoys you and really u just think who actually employed this set of daftys to run such a huge company's broadband lol enough said, apparently no heard if your activation date has passed you can CLAIM £10 PER Day not in cash n hand but towards your bill for your contract(Iff u stay that long)
