ee totally ignore your consumer rights. they mislead you with wrong advice/information. they are unhelpful and stubborn. they ignore your consumer rights which is a criminal offence. they remove and block you from their ee facebook site. they don't give a dam about you. they are operating outside the law. report them to the ombudsman. it costs you nothing and costs them several hundred pounds. I don't know of any other large company that operates in such a disgraceful and illegal way.

This has to be the worse broadband service since the Internet began. The speed is like dialup, the wifi never connects. When ever I call customer service it takes 30mins of being on hold then they say I need to wait 24hours. When ever I start moaning about the service they hang up!
What ever you do avoid EE broadband, not the save as EE mobile phone service.

Whatever you do don't move to EE. When you phone the 'biggest, fastest most reliable provider' you will wait 40 mins to get through to customer services. They capped my service so that I couldn't stream video content as well (the reason that I know this is that their support team in India told me on the phone!). All that I could see was the buffering symbol.
I phoned their customer service team and was put through to their UK customer service team and someone who knew nothing about 'customer service'. He was rude and abrupt. After the call he put a stop to my service even though I did not request this. It will take approx 4 days for them to get the service back up and running. I would not recommend EE to anyone. I was with Sky before and I wish I had stayed with them.

ZERO STARS! ABYSMAL! I ordered broadband in December 2014 with installation for 21st Jan 2015. No engineer turned up and nobody had bothered to communicate this. I submitted around 3 phone calls to the contact centre, submitted 5 online complaints and I got a joke of a response that contained bad grammar & spelling mistakes. The response basically told me to ring new line which I already had, 3 times and 40mins each call. The latest was I wouldn't be able to get an update on installation until May 2015!!!!!!! Total disgrace. Inefficient. Useless. Trying to get my deposit back & have gone with sky instead!

I am still waiting for my broadband connection after 10 days.
Calling EE is a nightmare, if they do not know how to help you, they cut you off or keep you on hold indefinately. Been promised to be connected several times but nothing happens. Give EE a wide berth, they are less than useless

EE total crud I was told I needed a new phone line installed so I could get broadband.this was arranged for instalation on 30-1-2015.as I had not received my router I telephoned ee only to be told my line wasn't getting installed the next day.yesterday I received a letter from ee stating the line would be installed on the 11-2-2015 between 9am and 12 midday.I had to cancel a urgent appointment with my go as there was no one else available to be at home for the engineer. At 13.30 and still no sign of engineer I called ee.was on hold for twenty minutes and when I got through I was put on hold for another ten minutes.then I was told it wasn't getting installed today.because BT had to do some work outside my property. This is the same excuse they gave on the 29-1-2015.I told her I was going to make a complaint.she replied I have raised a complaint for you.hope I get an answer because I didn't get one when I complaind two weeks before and still waiting..customer device is total crud they not botherd about their customers

Switched from BT broadband to EE Fibre broadband, the main requirement was to get an improved call package as many of the people we call are on mobiles so was spending about £18 pm just on mobile calls. Any improvement in broadband speed (5Mbps) was a plus. Was very doubtful about the self install feature and wondered if the promise of a refund for my BT termination costs were too good to be true. Anyway, signed up, Brightbox 2 router arrived, waited for a text from EE to say when to plug it all in (no BT Openreach engineer visit). Did that, and it worked seamlessly and without a hiccup. Speed and reliability exceeded expectations - we live half way up a mountain in a house with walls over 3ft thick and it is a steady 37Mbps down, 6.5Mbps up and a ping of 17ms. Have had no need to contact help desk, so could not score. Had email yesterday from EE to confirm refund of £56.90 for my early termination costs. Very satisfied.

One star may be too high for the service we have received. I have racked up phone bills for calling their support from my mobile when their services are down (frequently). We were offered an upgrade and the sales team kept saying our charges would go down - I asked her the catch and it turns out it included paying more than 50% of the annual cost upfront. Can't ever get hold of them (48 minutes on hold last night, only to be cut off by the operator when I finally got through). Overpriced, the service often doesn't work, and no notification when they put our charge up. I took over the contract when a former housemate moved out having not paid rent or bills for some time - EE even made it difficult for me to ring up and pay the money we owed them! Now 2 years on, they are still unable to put me as the main account holder, answer my questions or use my email address or tell me what the one on our account is. Basically, they are rude, unhelpful, and take no responsibility for the 'service' they provide.

Been with EE for nearly a year. There was a line fault to start with, the internet connection would drop when the phone rang or was off the hook. I must have called about 3 times in one week they tried multiple diagnostics to avail, but eventually sent out a BT engineer to change the telephone socket and has been fine ever since good speed and reliability.

Do not get if you are a business owner or freelance worker!!!

I purchased EE broad band switching from sky-
(BIGGEST MISTAKE I COUOD HAVE MADE!!)

EE connected me to the internet 4 days late; after I had phoned them 4 times, on two of my call they hung up on me.

After being connected 2 days my wifi box was stopped working. After hours on phone they said they would send a replacement in 3 to 5 working days. One week later I had not received it. I called them up again to discover they had not sent it. A week later it arrived.
My business spice switching has lost £1000s in lost services and unspeakable amounts in lost customers.

If you like me are a business owner. EE WILL NOT COMPENSATE FOR LOST PROFIT.

Worst customer service ever! In the last 3 month's I've had at least 3 weeks with no internet. They take so long to resolve issues. The customer service people are extremely patronising and rude. They keep you waiting for hours with no apology at the end of the wait. Difficult to understand them. Nothing good to say.

    Awful.
The worst internet I have ever had. Watching a 30 minute program online takes about 3 hours...enough time to watch The Green Mile or The Wolf of Wall Street. Constantly resetting and waiting for wifi to connect to devices. Usually spend my time using free coffee house broadband to complete University assignments because EE broadband is so awful. Avoid at all costs. Customer services don't care or understand either, hence why I switched from EE to O2 on my mobile contract earlier this year. I would not recommend EE whatsoever.

    Terrible terrible terrible
I finally gave up on EE after 5years of poor service; however even 2 months after an agreed date of changing suppliers i was still being billed.
I tried to resolve with EE after numerous call but was advised I had been in the wrong for not closing the account appropriately. (me informing them, my new suppliers informing them, two further calls didn't seem to be the enough for them to understand I was leaving.)
Further to this I have had to deal with unbelievable rude people at the call centre and having my call disconnected as their notes ( no mine) not having the accurate information
    Communication company ..... That's a joke
I have been left financial out of pocket and frustrated.
    Dreadful service- avoid.........

I started a new sim only contract around XMAS and took advantage of a special offer at a local EE Store in Nottingham. i took advantage of unlimited mins/Texts & 2GB Data for £12.99 PM which was reduced from £14.99. At this stage the advisor in the Shop was most helpful... However having been overcharged and incorrectly billed i rang EE Customer service to sort the problem however they cannot help and i was told to contact the shop. I then called the Shop to be told they cant sort this over the phone either! what a joke. I now have to find my original contract details and have to visit the store in person so they can investigate further. I just want to say this is a joke and a huge inconvenience.

    Regards
    James

I wish i had found this site and read the comments. after 1 hour to the connections team yesterday told that the transfer of our business line and number of 5 YEARS from Bt would not be happpening!!!!!!!! they dont do business packages!!!! the double allowance of data per month on the new mobile phones contract will not happen either!!!! Was misold the whole package by person in shop and fed BS all the way thru!!!! As a Tree Surgeon and Specialist that struggles enough for work in the current climate in the winter months EE may well have put the last nail in the coffin if i lose my landline number!!!! 20 mins to BT last nite and my service is being transfered back at a cheaper price than before and less than EE!!!! hopefully the promised transfer and number come back. if not look to the papers to see some free advertising EE. have to agree with all of the previous comments, forgot to mention that predicted speeds were around 7mb/s which would not even have run my mobile let alone all of the devices owned!!! DISMISS AT YOUR OWN PERIL READER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awful customer service. 30 minutes wait to get through to a rude, abrupt and impatient worker! Further 30 minutes pulling wires out, sticking paper clips into the back of router, rebooting etc. End result, told cannot fix and hung up!

Next day I ring cancellations, they try every trick in book to keep me as a customer but when they failed to convince me, they now keep me waiting for days to release a Mac key which I need to change supplier. Avoid at all costs!!!!

I too was tempted by the cost of the EE ‘Slowband’ package, and, as the old saying goes…”if it sounds too good to be true…”

Previously I was with Telewest/Virgin for 10 years, overall the server from them was good but their ever increasing costs and 500 channels of nothing convinced me it was time for a change. £2.50 a month and £140 cashback, what could go wrong… I thought.

All started off well, the order went through and the cashback was registered. The line was activated on time and the router arrived in readiness. Day 1, all worked fine, the line speed was forecast to be 4-8mb but I ended up with 14mb, bonus!

3 weeks in the true EE slowband service appeared, phoned Tech Supp (oh how I laughed) and there was a problem on the line, passed to another dept who would look into the fault and call me back. 2 days later, still no slow band and no call back. I call again, we believe there’s a problem with your line we’ll need to send an engineer….in 10 days! The engineer turns up, nice chap he was, he just gave me a wry smile when I mentioned EE. No fault in the house must be at the exchange and passes the fault to BT. Magically within 48 hours all is well again.

Over the subsequent weeks the sloooooooooooowband was in full force to the point of being unusable as many have reported. So, yet another call to “Tech Support”, same old shenanigans but they do agree to send an engineer out. He arrived, checks the cables and logs onto the router…”Aha! there’s your problem sir, the noise levels are too high, they should have checked that and can reset it over the phone”. He does so and bingo bango we’re back to ~12mb.

Roll on Decembers bill, have a charge for an engineers visit! Not on your effing nelly EE! It took 6 calls over nearly 3 hours to get the charge removed and then it was a gesture of “Good Will”

Honestly, if you’re thinking of moving to EE, don’t. It just isn’t worth the hassle.

As the saying goes….if it sounds too good to be true….

EE is the worst service provider I have ever come across! They must have the most appalling customer support in the world!
Our internet cuts off quite frequently and, for the second time in about 6 months it slowed down in speed so much (544kpps) that it became impossible to load a website.
After many hours (and days) of going through answering machine menus, waiting time and trouble-shooting on the phone, they finally agreed to send an engineer.
So this engineer not only couldn't solve the problem, but also broke a freestanding shelf in the flat, and didn't let us know about it nor reported the misfortune to EE.

The internet slowness was reported in mid-November and the broken furniture accident happened on the 8th Dec. It's the 3rd Feb today and I still haven't received a compensation from EE. I have been put through the most various teams,

All their customer service seems to be in India, the sound quality is frequently terrible on the phone, and they keep apologising about technical problems with requests not going through - almost hilarious for a telecommunications company.
I waited at home for the visit of a second engineer, as the problem wasn't solved by the first one and, instead, got a phone call from EE to tell me that the engineer wouldn't come because my request didn't go through. But, surprisingly, this very clever man on the phone thought he knew what the problem was and how to solve it.

Also, it's impossible to get anyone's direct contact. There's a lady who seems to now be responsible for my case, but I haven't got any of her contact details, so I need to wait for her to call me!
After 2 months and uncountable hours on the phone, I was given a phone number to call about the furniture damage – no contact name, nothing, just a reference number that the lady dug out from somewhere. And, guess what, this was not even an EE number, it was from BT and they had no idea whatsoever about the case. So now, after sending through all the details again, I am waiting for feedback from BT!

So DON’T swap to EE under any circumstances!!!

I want to give zero stars! I support every other terrible review here. Please don't risk having anything to do with this company. I have never had cause to complain to a company before. I am now at Ofcom stage. I've been paying for a service that I don't get, the broadband freezes, drops and slows to a standstill continually. And no-one will deal with my complaint. If you want 'scripted' conversations with humans who appear to robots, then this is for you. I'm voting with my feet. I am waiting for my MAC code and I'm out of here. I'm also ending my Orange phone contract (after 11 years) in disgust.

It has been nearly 3 weeks since activation. I am still experiencing internet drop-outs every day. I am unable to watch a movie on my PS4 (streaming) without it buffering at least 10 times!
The customer service is DIRE! Technical support is ALL based in India (or somewhere similar), 90% of the things they say will do.....they dont! They seem incapable of making sufficient notes about your call, and as I mentioned, do not action stuff they say they will e.g. a few times the agent has said they will credit my account with a free month, but subsequent phone calls revealed that the free month was NOT applied! despite (the 2nd time)my asking her to double check the credit had been applied.
Also, despite 4 calls about getting the eeTV (my reason for going to EE), they went back on their marketing blurb (eetv available to folks taking out broadband of at least 9.95 per month), and after TWO months i finally got bullied into changing my 31.70per month sub to 35.70 in order to get eeTV! I am locked into an 18mo contract.... :(

EE is the worst company I've ever come a cross. The customer service is disgraceful I can get more sense out of my 7 year old son then them. The whole price plan had been mixed up and had to call them 6 times explaining the same thing as the overcharged me for service that was supposed to be free. Every person I spoke to was worst then the last one. Thank god I left during the 14 day cooling off period as I had to be on the phone up to 4 times a day with them to sort out all their issues. One customer service assistant told me I shouldn't leave them as I just get the same service for more money from any other company.....what a cheek!!! Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

I was told that ee would facilitate everything to make my move from BT to EE easy and pain free.Sadly it's been anything but. After 2 months and 3 missed connection dates finally they worked out they couldn't provide the fibre optic package I'd been sold!customer service is shocking, I've been on hold for up to 2 hours. If you phone to take out broadband the call is answered immediately, not if you phone to ask about your installation.
If you get cut off, due to the poor EE signal on my phone, they NEVER call you back. It's now 3 months, still no broadband and they haven't even contacted me to advise/discuss my new billing on non fibre optic...what a shambles. I have no confidence that they will connect me on the 2nd...only 3 months after they disconnected me from BT!! Maybe less money spent on Kevin Bacon and more on staff and their training. Appauling doesn't even begin to cover it.

    Customer services don't respond quickly
Try to make it impassible to change supplier

Telephone them, then allow 30 minutes plus

Absolutely rubbish. Struggle to watch BBC I player, stopping every 10 - 20 seconds buffering.
    Internet connection keeps dropping out.
11 more months of this rubbish.!
Can't contact customer service any way except on the phone were you are on hold for 20 mins. Then you get a foreign call centre! They can never help. Help me please.

I don't usually write reviews but felt compelled after the terrible service I received from EE. I waited 40 minutes, 50 minutes, over an hour on their 0845 number at 40p a minute and the problem was still not resolved. Finally sent out BT engineer and all was working when he left, ½ hour later it failed again and was told I would have to wait another 2 weeks for a BT engineer. I have had to use a dongle just to get on the internet. Now it keeps dropping so half way through a tv programme we lose it for a couple of seconds. When I complained and told them I wanted to return to SKY they said fine, just paid £250.00 buy out and you can go. So crappy service and they have me and others it sounds like over a barrel. Don't touch these people with a barge poll if you want constant internet service. 1 Star is way too much.

We switched to EE from PlusNet, earning (a load) of Nectar points for signing up, and also receiving a £70 credit to cover our PlusNet cancellation fees (PlusNet were the WORST company I've ever come across - constantly charging us for calls we didn't make, terrible customer service and very poor broadband).
The sign-up process is easy - they keep you posted on progress of your order. The router is brilliant - very smart, looks great and amazing coverage. Their broadband has been superb - best provider I've ever had by far. Couldn't recommend more highly!

After 10 years of shoddy speed internet, terrible customer service and average prices I finally decided to call in to get a MAC code.

I spent 55 minutes on the phone to Orange (EE) before they'd agree to let me leave their broadband service. I was put through to their retention department without my permission where I had to say no 5 different times, in 5 different ways to a rude, overselling staff member.

In the end the ONLY thing that stopped her fighting me on my opinion and what I wanted out of MY broad band service was that I told her I don't believe in companies that go "Oh you're leaving? Here's a better service to keep you interested" because I believe it should be the best service you can offer from day 1. That is the ONLY thing that stopped her arguing with me!

Will not even reconsider them if I switch again.

Set up business account with business account manager then received details of domestic broadband. Still fighting now nearly a year later. Also set up mobile package but worse signal I've ever had, often no signal. Was told we are in a black spot so signal not great but they checked my postcode when I signed up. Doesn't matter where I am in the county, signal always dropping in and out. I wish I'd never changed to EE and would never recommend them.
