    A company that upgraded all of its systems, YET is still behind in the times.

    Just because you upgrade to 200 mb/s, it doesn't mean you are buying the stability of 200 mb/s which has always been KCOM's issue. You are buying 200 mb/s, but you are getting around 40 mb/s.

    Light stream dropped out Friday night, rang KCOM Saturday morning, after hanging on the 'phone on hold for 20mins we got through. After explaining the fault, was talked through several things to switch on/off etc. Was then asked if we could unplug the router, go to a neighbour, unplug theirs and try ours on their wiring! After a while we were asked to take the router in to KCOM on Carr Ln, this we did, to be told the router was ok. Returned home plugged in & rang tech support again, after again been talked through fault finding we were told there is a fault in the area!! Cheers KCOM didn't you know that? Sooner Sky etc move in the area the better.

    Awful company. if you reading this chances are you do not have a choice of broadband provide. Kcom recognise this and squeeze their customers for everything. Customer service is constantly sub par

    Everybody i know has the best package kcom have to offer however, everyone whom i have discussed this issue with is highly displeased at the regularity of the connection going out for no apparent reason. Even when it is not down, the connection is very poor and nowhere near the promised speeds.

    KKOM will not let me down grade my broadband package unless I sign a 24 month contract for the lower price. They are also charging me an extra 3 pounds a month because I refuse to sign a 24 month contract. I am waiting for Grain a new provider so I can change from KKOM which is very expensive !!

    It is a total failure. Low quality service keep freezing internet streaming with low quality of support team who do not enough expertise to solve the basic issues. Parental control is just not working at all.

    Fairly reliable compared to other providers, but what's the use in reliability with speeds 10x slower than competitor's.

    Worst speed I've had is 1500ms ping from an ookla test. That's 1.5 SECONDS!

    Overpriced for an awful service with no option to change from KCOM's monopoly. If I could, I'd change to another provider, but they'd have to use KCOM's awful infrastructure so the speeds would be the same if not slower. Customer service is okay but they can't fix the speed issue as it's a problem with KCOM's greed.

    KCOM is holding back Hull to speeds acceptable 10 years ago.

    Back 25 yers in time with reliability and speed. Last time I had to switch to 4g. As kcom internet was struggling with the facebook messanger. (I am on the fiber package).Also the price is twice as expensive as what my friends pay for better and more reliable internet.

    The internet is slow in general.
    If 5+ people are on the internet, it barely works.

    Anyone saying that KCOM is good probably lives by themselves and only watch facebook videos.

    Kcon are hopeless their Broadband is expensive and rubbish and it constantly breaks down! For your own sake if a Kcon comes found trying to sell you services tell them to Piss Off and then do a Larry Grayson and Shut That Door don't have anything to do with this con Artist so save a Fortune by going to Vodaphone call them on 08080408408 as they are a lot cheaper than Rip Off Kcon

    If it was possible to give less than 1* I would. Absolutely disgusted with this company. They have the monopoly in Hull and are therefore charging 3 times what the rest of the company is charging. They also only have 18 month contracts, which is absurd in a university city where all the students will require 12 month contracts, and the fees to reduce the contracts to 12 months are around the £250 mark. Disgusting.

    Can rightfully described as the worst broadband provider on the planet. Waited 3 weeks for new installation at my mother's house. The engineer installed it but said the ones who installed lighstream cabling outside had not fitted it right. Said it wasn't his problem so left it not working and said outside team would fix it whenever. This is my mother's first experience with kc broadband and it can best be described has atrocious.

    Absolute joke of a company. I'm no longer with them. I'm with 3 homefi. Got a 4h router through them and a took out a SIM only with unlimited data. A lot faster that kc and only 20 pound a month. Would not recommend kc to anyone. Worst company in the UK.

    Disgust of a company. How dare they advertise an average of 14mbps for may area yet give us under 1mbps! They have delayed Lighstream a number of times (I know technical problems are inevitable, but KCOM continuously let customers down). 4

    Their customer service isn't any better! They assured me I was guaranteed to get the advertised speed, even though I have provided them evidence I don't even get 1/10 of that!

    The worst internet in the country.total rip off 50 quid a month with a 0.01 speed tried every channel.dial up was better even a dongle.monopoly hull with no other internet providers so kc provide the worst in uk and charge the most total rip off

    Absolute disgrace. I pay £36.00 a month for a download speed of 2.64 mbps, more than 17 mbps below the national average. I actually have found that I have resorted to using my phones 3G instead of broadband at home because it is much faster. Unable to even choose a different company as there is no competition to them in Hull. They should be shut down.

    What a shower of **** this company is.I find it strange that if you run a speed test kcon shows up 94Mbps and BT wholesale shows up 47Mbps (supposed to be 250Mbps). Kcon massaging the figures slightly me thinks. Their monopoly was agreed in a different time when different rules applied - it is not relevant now and should be cancelled.

    Utter crap. I was with BT before this and I sure miss them. 130k download speed, when it isn't dropping out and when I complained after a little while they closed the live chat and had the cheek to send me an sms to say that the problem had been solved to my satisfaction. I'm cancelling and they can take this rubbish away. They are nothing but con merchants and only interested in taking peoples money and laughing at us

    You are very restricted in Hull with what ISP you can go with. KCOM is the main ISP in Hull and it has been that way for a very long time. But, things need to change because KCOM are absolute trash. I have lived in Hull nearly my entire life and we have always struggled with poor service from KCOM, but have never been able to switch because of the monopoly KCOM play. Need internet? KCOM is basically your only option, or satellite broadband with long waiting times and expensive installation fees and most of the time high ping.

    Without Lightstream (which is not available in all parts of Hull yet), you can't even get an upload speed averaging 1mb/s which makes it near impossible if you wish to stream games online. Let me add by saying you can expect 10mb/s download speed on a GOOD day (and that is on a cable connection, not Wi-Fi). I have called KCOM several times to enquire why my Wi-Fi connection is so bad and they put it down to the distance between device and router, which is complete bull because I live in an extremely small flat with paper thin walls, so the signal should not be a problem at all.

    Even on a cabled connection I still struggle to download and stream. At most I can download things at 1-2mb/s, it takes a RIDICULOUS amount of time to download large games so I often have to leave my PC on overnight to let it download.

    My sister and her partner have Lightstream and Netflix STILL buffers for them. I can't even say that maybe it is so bad because there are a lot of devices connected to the router because there isn't.

    KCOM is awful. Extortionate prices for extremely slow and frustrating download and upload speeds; even on Lightstream. Please, if you can save yourself the hassle and stress and AVOID this TRASH company.

    Other ISPs if you are reading this, please battle KCOM and start offering your service, take over the phone lines in Hull; we all need you!!!

    Their services and Light stream are useless. Constantly disconnects, never stable and their tech support simply blames it on your hardware (I've had it all replaced by a professional at vast cost).

    If you could have half stars it would all be that but trying to run anything with more than 2 people at a time is so slow it will even cut off connection ties with devices and you can always reliey on it to cut off at times of need, whoever own these are solid criminals

    After the second time of waiting 5 hours next to the door for an engineer to arrive I am now £240 out of pocket and 4 weeks without Internet. No leaflet through the door,no missed calls.

    When I say they never turned up customer services don't believe me. I am tired of this.

    The worst company I have ever had any dealing with!! Door to door salesman called and I agreed to KCom installing Lightstream Broadband: Full Fibre 100 system at monthly cost of £24.99 a month with no installation or activation cost and my existing contract paid off. KCom sent me an order confirmation staing monthly cost of £39.99/month and £24.99 activation fee! I have now spoken to 3 different members of their ‘customer services’ team; on the first two occasions they promised to send me a revised contract with the correct details. It seems they can talk the talk but unable to deliver on what they promise! Today I spent 41 minutes speaking to the third member of their ‘customer service’ team who at first couldn’t find my address or account and then said it had been put in the wrong place. After several ‘I’m going to put you on hold while I speak to a colleague and a final put on hold whilst his manager took a look at it, I was cut off!! Stupidly I thought I would give it one more try and called again and after waiting 26 minutes for my call to be answered I was cut off again!!!!!!!!!!! I have now spent 115 minutes of my life trying to rectify KCom’s inability to send a simple contract by email.
    KCom are either totally incompetent or an outfit of scammers and I really should have taken note of the online reviews of this company, most of which are awful
    I have now cancelled the fraudulent contract and the bank direct debit (which they set up on the first day!)

    Liars!!! Useless!!!

    I cancelled before I even got my router or properly set up.

    So I originally set up online, was told that 2 weeks later I had an appointment with someone coming out to set it up for me between 8.30-12pm.
    I have a screen shot of this from their website and also had a email saying someone had tried to call me but I would see a member or Kcom on 13th april.

    Having booked the day off work sat waiting by 12pm no one turned up!! Spoke with a girl who said that because the previous owners were with KCOM that’s why they didn’t come and a router should have been sent. Which why was I not told this , if this was true!? She then said it should be there within 1-2 days . Shock … nothing turned up!
    Spoke to the 2nd person, said it was on its way!
    1 weeks later .. guess what! No router came.
    3rd person, “it hasn’t been sent out, I’ll do it now or will be with you in 3-5 working days…. Can you guess? Nothing!! So I’m now 4.5 weeks in my new home waiting for internet.
    Spoke to someone else, said theyd speak to a team and get it sorted and try get a router sent out!

    Each time I called they didn’t have my name on the account, even after calling up 4 times now . It’s still under the previous owners of my address.

    No one knows what is going on in the office!

    I feel drained trying to speak to anyone on customer services. It’s caused me added stress on moving house!

    What an APPALLING COMPANY!! Don’t even waste your time !!!!!!!!!

    Absolutely disgusting company. Clearly states on the website if you cancel early you get charged 50% of the remaining contract. This is disgusting but I understand. Now tbeyre trying to say my monthly bill is 25% than what I pay so I have to pay them nearly £300 for cancelling? No way I will be seeing a solicitor. AVOID at all costs, broadband speed is so slow and intermittent as well!

    Worst customer service ever! 10 months still not got my speed back to anywhere near it use to be before. Wasnt great in the first place! 2.9 mbps to 3.5 mbps down to 0.4 mbps and after 10 months kcom finaly give up and said ill have to wait for lightstream! KCom usual offer of credit and discount but no actual money refunded! No refund for past internet even though there was no speed at all. It is true when a company has the monopoly they take full advantage of its customers, over charge and give an apauling service at Hulls peoples expence! More people need to complain to the onbudsman and stop taking it from Kcom!
    Why is the monopoly still allowed when its ileagal i want to know?

    telephone line down,ring customer service,,my equipment at fault,but amazingly begins to function after phone call,internet down,lightstream,ring customer service,amazingly begins to work again after 5 hours.if ever there was a case for the monopolys commission to intervene,its kcom,would leave in an instant if a viable alternative was available
