where to start I've been with the post office now for 13-14 months and they are crap the speed is slow the wifi connection is very hit and miss if there's one. and the customer service is the bigger joke ever. I've lost count how many times I've rung them to complain. they say the same thing and do the same thing ever time I ring them. they have blamed the bad connection on the router 3 times and sent me a 3 new ones and still it doesn't make a difference. so DON'T USE THE POST OFFICE FOR BROADBAND

I have been a PO customer for over 4 years. Very rarely have I been disappointed with any aspect and these recent reviews prompted me to post mine. At only £8 per month (currently £4) and £15 (£12 if paid in advance) line rental for unlimited broadband it must be a good deal. Plus calls at weekend to 40 different countries. How much more do people want? One thing has never been reported - the evening calls start at 6pm not 7 like so many others. You don't get fibre optic speed but my connection is mostly 7Mb, dropping slightly at busy times.

"Abandon Hope All who Enter Here."
Took months to get problems resolved. Many, many wasted hours on the phone. One example : Told me I needed a broadband engineer to call, so I arranged to wait in. They then sent the wrong type of engineer, who said I needed a broadband engineer. They repeated this error twice more !!
    Shocking incompetence. Never again.

This is the complaint letter I wrote to them today, 24.8.2015 - says it all:
In April I chose to swop my broadband and telephone service to yourselves. I paid for the line rental for 12 months in advance and I recollect – although it was so long ago I cannot be sure exactly what was said - that the service would be up an running within 14 days of you receiving the mac code that I had to obtain from BT.

I requested the code the same day but did not receive it until three weeks later, when I gave you the code to activate the broad band, you said that I would receive the router about 5 days before the line went live.

The telephone line became active on the 1st of June, I knew this because BT advised me, but I had no communication from you.

When I did not receive the router I phoned up mid June, only to be told that you had tried to apply the mac code and it was faulty, however no one had contacted me to inform me of this. I phoned BT and they said the mac code was accurate, after much back and forth in telephone calls and time I finally ascertained that by the time you applied the code it was out of date which was why the broad band would not port. However the man I spoke to said that rather than wait for a new code from BT we may as well go ahead without this and have the broad band activated on the 21st of June as on that date new legislation came in which allowed companies to take over the broad band service without a mac code, I agreed to this and awaited the receipt of my router.

The 21st of June came and went and still no router, I was then away for three weeks and on my return again phoned only to be told that my broad band order had been cancelled, but that my telephone line would be live with you on the 7th of July. Your representative told me on several times that it was the telephone that would be live until I finally convinced him that this was already active.

I was then under the understanding that it was the broad band that would be live.

As the 7th approached and I still had no router I called again, this time I was told that the broad band would be live on the 7th but may not be activated by BT until up to the 21st, I again confirmed that I would have the router in good time so that there would be no loss of service and I am fairly sure that I explained that it was a holiday cottage and I was going to have to make the 3 hour journey to take the router to the cottage as it was being delivered to the account address in Atherstone, I was assured that this would be the case.

I then received and email from BT in the week ending the 14th to say that they were sorry I was leaving and their service with me would cease on the 21st.

On the 17th I had still not received the router and called again, this time I was told that they could not locate a tracking number, however not to worry as if no tracking order was found by the 21st they would then be able to re-order and I would get it in 3-5 working days. At that point I was totally exasperated with the downright inefficiency and robot like responses of your staff in general, plus their lack of ability to get anything right. I asked to speak to customer complaints and a lady whose name I think was Leanna, told me that she understood my frustrations and would arrange for a router to be dispatched on that day.

I was due to go away that weekend but was under the impression from my agents that no one was in the cottage until the 28th of August, the guests that were leaving would do so on the 21st so that any disruption to them would be minimum. On that basis I decided that I would mail the router direct to my agent when it arrived so that he could make sure it was in place for the guests that were due on the 28th. However it turns out that there are guests at the cottage and they have complained that they have no broadband.

On Saturday, the 22nd I received a letter from you which says

    Dear Mrs O’Donnell

    Yours sincerely
    Mariam Nazir
    Customer Experience Advisor
    Post Office Telecoms

Well I am sure I really need to know that Ms Nazir is your customer experience officer, and no doubt you must have felt it very important that I knew of this fact because that is all the letter has told me, so how about this for a reply to Ms Nazir – My experience with Post Office Telecoms has been ******* diabolical.

I again called today to ask where the router is and was told that Leanna and Ms Nazir had tried to contact me on the 18th and been unable to do so, although why they could not leave a voice mail I do not know and it seems odd that they did not reach me as I was at my desk most of the day and have no missed calls recorded, I imagine they used an incorrect number which would fit with your general standard of efficiency, the correct number is at the bottom of this email. Apparently the failed calls were to tell me that they could not find a tracking order and that they could only make an order for a second router when the broad band went live on the 21st, sounds familiar……..it is blatantly obvious that they could not find a tracking order because no router had been ordered in the first place.

At the very least I would have expected that the router would have been ordered on the 21st but surprise, surprise at 10.00 this morning of the 24th no order had been placed, had I not called it would still not be placed. It seems nothing can be done to speed the delivery up so to try and mitigate the ludicrous delay I have asked for it to go direct to my Agent and have been told that this is not a problem, I have repeatedly checked that this will be the case but have little faith due to previous experience with you.

I think the service I have received is dreadful, I can hardly believe I am saying this but it is far worse than BT, and that’s going some.

I would like to know what you intend to do to compensate me for this dreadful service that has caused me untold frustration, wasted my time and cost me money due to having to call you repeatedly as a result of your repeated inefficiency, and I await an answer to this.

BUT FIRST, THIS IS MY CALL TO ACTION TO YOU - AND I REQUIRE A REPLY WITHIN TWO HOURS, AND YES I AM SHOUTING:

I want someone of authority to confirm that the router will be dispatched today and mailed to the to the following address, and I require their name position and direct telephone number:

My advice is DON't do it! Don't purchase this product. It is THE most unreliable one I have ever had the misfortune to use. Even WORSE than Talk Talk and that's says a lot :( I have left plusnet and they were much netter.
