I sincerely regret going with TalkTalk Broadband services. As a student, I need a reliable connection as all work is done and submitted online. Upon setting up our package, we've experienced nothing but a constant dropping connection, slow speeds and weak signal despite being next to the router. When one person is using the internet, the other two simply can't whether it's simple browsing or not. When calling TalkTalk, I was met with a call spokeperson who I could barely understand as they were not English, they tried to talk me through things for over an hour (a large phone bill for me with little money to pay it with) when they could in fact do it themselves within a matter of minutes. I'm currently looking in to switching to Virgin.

There is a great reason why 99% of these reviews are so Dissatisfied. This so called company is unreal.. Daylight robbery springs to mind. I have never felt so appalled with a service. They lie, make promises to con customers and has caused great distress to people including me and my husband. If only I knew what I was getting myself into before signing up. I wouldn't give them any stars as the so called service is diabolical.

If you think a broadband and phone service couldn't get any worse then perhaps the one you are with now may I recommend going with TalkTalk.
Try it, TalkTalk will make your worse internet server look so good.

The worse service ever! I spent 45 min answering the same questions to different customers advisers! Looks like they want you to spend as much as possible time on the phone paying 0870 number. So annoying!
I was waiting for the broadbend delivery for two weeks! But they just rejected my order without letting me know!
Never again!

NEVER, EVER GO TO TALK TALK
Supposed to be connected on the 8th October, but engineer didn't turn up after a friend stay at my house all day for them. Contacted them the next day, no explanation given. Eventually got another appointment booked after going round the houses, as there rebook option on the website just buffers and doesn't load. New appointment not until 23rd October. Arranged day off work. Talk Talk called on 21st to make sure someone would be in. But engineer didn't turn up. Online chat informed that an engineer will visit between 8.00-1.00, so I pointed out it was 1.30pm. Online chat just as useless as the call centre. New appointment now booked for 20th November as this is my day off, but I checked my account the next day and the appointment has been booked for the 19th!! They are of course charging me for basic broadband throughout this. I also just bought a cheap phone to connect to the phone line in case the engineer tried that number. But today I have had 8 unsolicited calls for 4 companies today. I haven't given this number out anywhere, as I wasn't going to use the phone, so it could only have come from Talk Talk. Not even sure I can cancel the contract, but they are not providing the fibre package that I asked for?

Really annoyed with talk talk. I got a letter saying the engineer will be around to install my broadband and phone this week. Strange that as Ive never ordered anything from them ever as Ive heard theyre the worst net service in the Country. Called them up to ask what was going on. Was disgusted at the way I was spoken to and the matter was handled. Avoid them like the plague they really are that bad.

My first contract has expired was happy with the speed and reliability and the best price at the time. Was thinking about switching supplier to get the best possible deal with was ee. Rang the talk talk call centre they were fast, polite and knowledge. Told them about the deal with ee. They matched it and made it better, get broadband, evening and weekend calls for 8.50 they also paid my line rental for 12 months and gave me £120 pound voucher (perfect for christmas). So I am effectively getting paid £18 to stay as a customer. Speed is what any supplier estimates and I get new router and set top box. Great value! Plus if you recommend a friend you get a £50 amazon voucher

In December 2013 my broadband stopped working. I was told it would be fixed within 48 hours. Six weeks later it was fixed. The costs I incurred haven't been covered, despite assurances. I have been treated with incredible rudeness, and TalkTalk refuse to apologise. I have escalated this to the CEO, Dido Harding to no avail. Formal complaints are ignored. Due to the poor service I swapped to PlusNet, which I am very happy with.

During the first week in September our Broadband went down. We called TalkTalk to report the Fault. The operative believed the outage was caused by a line fault which needed an engineer to check the line. That was his diagnosis, not ours. We were appalled that the first engineer appointment offered was over four weeks away, but we accepted this date. Whilst the possibility of a £50 charge was mentioned, the words used by the operative left us both (listening on speakerphone) with the impression that a charge would be made if it were found that the problem was caused by something we had done. We have no recollection of being told we would be charged if no fault was found. The operative advised us that even should our broadband service resume in the meantime, we should not cancel the engineer visit as the line still needed to be checked – the Broadband was working again the following morning, but on the basis of this advice my wife booked a morning off for 8 Oct to accommodate the engineer’s visit. Had we known this would cost £50 we would clearly have cancelled the appointment and my wife would have saved taking half a day of her holiday! A day or so before the engineer visit, one of their operatives called to remind me of the appointment. During that call I advised the operative that our broadband was now working, but that the previous operative had said that even if it was, the engineer still needed to check the line. AT NO POINT DID SHE MENTION A £50 CHARGE FOR THIS.
We have been loyal AOL/TalkTalk customers for almost 10 years now and I am appalled that on querying the bill their operative, whilst polite, was unable to authorise the cancellation of this charge or pass me through to a manager who could do so. It was clear that I was speaking to a script bound drone in some overseas call centre (albeit a very polite and respectful drone who was clearly following orders). I appreciate that it is only £50, but this is a point of principle and one that I will peruse through the ombudsman if needs be. This whole situation, from the 5-week wait for an engineer visit to the inappropriate charge, has shown this company in a very poor light. Even if we do see our £50 back, I don’t think we will be hanging about as soon as our contract is up.

The customer service is by far the worst that every experienced. They fobbed me off with the WHOLE system is down then refused to give me another number to complaint, then phoned back to a different person and they said they would phone me back and never. The product was poor and they overcharged and when cancelled they tried to charge £50 good luck with that. Honestly they are terrible and can I just say I don't usually go online to a forum to express my views, but they are so bad I had to in order to stop other people taking their product.

As others have stressed: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I am flabbergasted as to how they are still in business. My boyfriend and I are stuck on the most painful 18 month contract and I cannot wait until its over. My boyfriend has spent countless hours on the phone when the broadband failed, was going too slow, when the tv didn't work... The number of times he has had to explain a simple fault over and over to the dullards at the call centre who seem chronically unable to document anything is just shocking. If you don't mind spending a good potion of your waking hours on the phone to some of the most unhelpful people offering a substandard service, by all means sign up. I'd rather pay double for a service that actually works from a company that understands customer service.

Worst service I've ever experienced.
Customer service, if you're lucky enough to get them in under 30 minutes is simply terrible - they behave like they don't understand a word I'm saying. I cancelled my contract and went to aa.net.uk, but those guys STILL bill me for the service:) For disconnected intenet and phone.
And don't even ask about realiability - basic package from small, independent internet provider beats it hands down. I can't remember how many times I had disruptions of the service but enough times for my marketing software to crash all the time and lose me money. Stay away

I left sky to join talktalk as they were the only ones who had the option of fibre.
Before the changeover began i had problems, they started to take the line too soon and so my phone line was in limbo. I could not make outgoing calls and my sky broadband went to pieces. Ironically at the time i thought because i had handed my notice in with sky they had some how slowed my line right down, apologies for that to sky!
To be fair to talktalk i asked and got £60 compensation so my first two weeks worked out free.
Once the broadband was installed for the first few weeks it was really good but then all the problems started. Terrible reliability, slow speeds, high ping making gaming completely impossible. If i reset the router it might make a difference for a few minutes it might not.
I have complained to talktalk and they tell you no problem with the line or external fault and it is being rectified. Nothing changes.
Today i have subscribed back to sky, i know talk talk will want an early termination fee but i am willing to argue this one in court. Shocking service that just should not happen these days.
I don't need the fastest but i want reliability. I had it with sky, heading back and will never touch talk talk again

This company must be in league with the medical association, getting a commission for every patient they put the doctors way. My blood pressure already hifg was pushed to capacity and my sanity seriously doubted, as they refused to understand a word I said.....after two hours'my son was force to take a diazepam to calm down...
My problems began when I received a phone call to extend my package and save money (laugh)
The engineer called and after trying to get my Internet up and running said it was down to bt as it was their line at fault. They sent another engineer when I rang them to find out when the engineer was due to call. They informed my one was booked for today (they never showed) I explained I had had the engineer call and had bought the appoint, net forward and this appointment has been cancelled, and he also said the problem lay with bt....oh yes I forgot after the first engineer called I had no tv or broadband or phone!!!!!!!!!!
My son being resourceful hooked up a temporary link and got us back on, but the service was worse than before.
I have today been on the phone to them over two hours, trying to get a bt engineer to see me without success they just wanted to sent out a third engineer to confirm what the other two had said I spoke to seven people going round and round and eventually had to hang up for my own sanity
THIS PROVIDER IS SIXPENCE SHORT OF A SHILLING..I don't know if they are trying to go bankrupt, or are simply stupid, or just enjoy winding people up for the entertainment value...for your own mental stability give this company a wide berth, even one star is too much

They sent me an offer. Half price internet and half price line rental (I have BT line rental at the moment). Called them to verify. First of all, instead me asking them for clarification about things I wanted to ask the guy on the other side of the line could not shut up and kept talking. Then offered me more expensive option. Then it turned out that apparently the offer is "old" (it was dated for this month on it) and they don`t offer half price line rental. When I said it is in date he "talked to manager" and said that "that offer ended about week ago". Lied again, as the small print on the other side says that offer valid till 30.11.14. That is how they tantalize people. When I said it was unethical he nearly shouted at me and treated like an idiot, because I don`t want to pay less, trying to redirect me and disregard the fact the the offer was purposely misleading and unethical. All conversation was nearly a monologue from the "advisor", I should have disconnected without word, just did not want to be rude. Lost 4 quid. Worst customer service in my life so far and a blatant rip off as well. I`ll check if written offer is binding, already have two of them. I`ve been with AOL, taken over by Talk Talk for 8 years. high time to change. Stay away from cheaters.

My partner & I have spent the last 3 MONTHS receiving THE WORST customer service we have ever experienced from any company EVER, from TalkTalk.
3 months ago we placed an order for broadband with them, they sent out an engineer to set it all up only to find we had no physical phone line (cable) so they kindly arranged with BT Openreach to have one installed in our house.
3 months later & 4 engineers later & we STILL have no phone line OR broadband. Between us, my partner & I have taken 4 days off of work to wait around on engineers that either DIDNT SHOW UP or didn’t know how to sort our issues. We feel we should be compensated for this time off work.
We FINALLY received correspondence informing us that an engineer would be with us tomorrow (22/10/14) between 8am & 1pm and we were over the moon and excited to finally have a phone line and broadband...
HOWEVER, today we received an email which thanked us for cancelling our order...which we haven’t done (even though we should have by now!). My partner called TalkTalk and they were absolutely no help whatsoever, coming up with crap excuses that made no sense to justify why our order had been cancelled. They did recognise that it wasn’t US that cancelled it and that they had for whatever reason. They suggested re-submitting the order for phone line and broadband AGAIN and starting the process all over... NO THANKS. My partner told them to “shove it” in a polite manner and now we’re looking elsewhere for a phone line and broadband.
We’re absolutely sickened to our stomachs and feel like we’ve been treated very badly. This has caused us so much stress and we definitely will never recommend them to ANYONE.

Talk Talk absolutely the most disgraceful service on all counts.
Internet service was / is non existent , customer services are useless.
The Executives office is an answerphone and they do not respond to any request . All efforts to get TT to provide the service they are paid for is in vain
This issue has been ongoing for 7 weeks. What a disgraceful Company . Management need to visit South Korea to see what REAL Internet service and speed IS.

I am an existing talktalk customer and i called them to cancel my contract and go with sky because i wanted fibre broadband. The advisor taljed me into staying with them and signing up for broadband with them which i did on 16th september 2014. My go live date for fibre broadband was 25th september 2014. On that day nothing changed. I still had standard broadband. I called them 4 or 5 times and got nowhere with them. Anyway i eventually found out my go live date is now 18th october 2014 and the engineer will switch my service over then. On the 17th my internet went off. The engineer has damaged something and no one has told me anything. Ive had to call them again. Now i have no internet and dont know when I'll be getting it. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH TALKTALK. They're a bunch of scamming idiots!!!!!

TalkTalk broadband - slower than the old dial-up speed AND the connection keeps dropping. If you are thinking of taking out one of their "super" deals, don't do it. Any other company apart from this one. Even before our contract is up, we will be off. Shameful service. Shameful company. Never again.

I've been fighting talktalk for 5 months to get a usable broad band speed. T-T promise engineers - and then cancel them, their call centre staff mostly speak very bad English, You often have to wait 20 minutes to speak to a human. We have spent over 14 days waiting for engineers that occasionally turn up. They used to be OK (never great) and they provided the package that we needed. I would be content with 4Mbps, at the moment it's less than 1Mbps when it connects at all.

We recently moved (SW19 - London) so decided to go with TalkTalk.
As full disclosure, I'm due to be joining TalkTalk in the near future and decided it would be a good test case to see how it worked.
As TalkTalk is so cheap we decided to go with fibre. We don't watch TV so stream heavily, another reason for fibre
The router was sent to us about 1 week before the engineer, as I was told in advance, and on the day the engineer turned up. I suppose I was a little surprised that we'd booked the appointment 13:00 - 18:00 and he called at about 10:00 as he was in the local area, had made some changes at the exchange and asked if we could plug in the router to test. It was plugged in and everything was up and running instantly.
Since then we've had almost uninterrupted service. DSLs can be quite flakey, especially when first installed (again TalkTalk warned us of this in the first 10 days), but I've been pretty happy, I think it's gone down twice for 30 seconds or less. Multiple streams is no problem.
I've not had to contact TalkTalk's customer services so can't comment on them, but for me it's been so far so good.
I was previously with O2 before that was sold to Sky (where I stayed). On the whole that was a reasonable service, although I had a number of issues around my DD, including once where they took the wrong payment amount. It was also more expensive for a slower service. We'll see how it compares in the long term.
Before that I was with BT, where I did have horrible service.

Broadband is actually OK when its working, HOWEVER the customer service is despicable, disjointed and its ridiculously difficult to understand half the people they have working in their obviously indian call centre. SERIOUSLY SHOCKINGLY BAD.
You get to what you think is a resolution or a promise that it will be fixed and dealt with, but call them back when its NOT fixed and they dont even know what the previous conversations were, and they start the whole process again.
RIDICULOUSLY BAD Customer experience, wish i had gone with someone-anyone else!!

we have had broadband and phone for 5 months and every month we have had problems, these from very poor download speed, internet just going off then phone line going dead. Numerous TalkTalk engineers out only for them to say what I had already told them its a BT Open-reach fault. Then we have to wait again for BT to move. We had no internet and phone line for 13 days whilst they passed the ball back and to. Customer service is very bad as they promise lots but give nothing. I have dealt several times with the CEO office but still no help. I have now quit them and have also taken my parents out of talkTalk.
I have asked for a refund of my money and they have refused saying that all the payments they have made to me because of the problems are welcome and promotional ones, but they still want to charge me £50 to cancel the contract.

What ever you do do not be fooled by TalkTalk Mobile offers because once they tie you to a contract, they will start charging you for internet data you never use and I am talking about over £100 for few days using the odd email and what's app message. Appalling customer service. They don't even care what you say, and one department shoves you to another for hours and days. Avoid at all cost.

Don't waste your money on a broadband which disconnects when it rains. And as for the tv. It takes so long to turn on, a snail with crutches goes faster.
Their tv is just a glorified freeview box.
All i can say is dont get yourself attracted by the cheap prices. Talk talk gives stress and your family will curse u for going with them.
